World at War for me. I wasn't up on the game up until the beta, and the beta didn't wow me at all either and I almost went and got my $5 back from reserving it. After playing the game it's just as addicting as COD4 was, I think I've already put a days worth of play time into it. It's made me lose a lot of sleep.

Little Big Planet, my friend rented it, I loved it and bought a PS3 specifically for that damn game. It still amazes me everyday I play it.

Hmm, I'd have to say NBA Live 09. I didn't actually buy it, but I loved the demo and actually almost bought it. After playing NBA 2k9, though, I went for it instead. But the demo was stunning.

I'd also maybe add Dead Space.

Dead Space, Bioshock, and Mass Effect. I knew they'd be good, but not THAT good.

Biggest surprise - Dead Space - EA actully made a game worth the 60 dollars

Next in line - SOCOM or World at war both are excellent online

Definitely surprised by Dead Space, had a lot of fun with that game. And was also very surprised by Fable 2 since I almost never enjoy any kind of RPGs.

I'm going to go with Civilization Revolution. I never really thought a strategy game would work well on a console, regardless of if it was turn based or not. This game just blew me away. In fact I'm scared to pop it in the tray any more, knowing I could play it for the next three hours with ease and think 30 minutes had gone.
