    IGN Review - 7.8

Should any of the criticism I've launched keep you from playing X-Men Origins: Wolverine -- Uncaged Edition? No, this is an awesome guilty pleasure. Usually, I'll sit down to review a repetitive game that's filled with the same attacks and just tear it apart because the repetition sucks the fun out of the experience. X-Men Origins has repetition in spades, but it's the kind of repetition Wolverine/action game fans are going to love; I mean, can you get sick of literally slicing someone in two and watching the blood explode across the screen? Can you get sick of hoisting a bad guy in the air and savagely stabbing him in the gut over and over again? Can you get sick of watching Wolverine get beaten down to his adamantium skeleton only to sit there and marvel as his muscle and skin grown back in real time? I can't.

The story is convoluted, the bosses are boring and the whole experience isn't that deep, but this game sure is fun.

        Most enthusiastic review thus far:

I'm gonna go ahead and pick this one up. Looks like a God of War but with Wolverine, to me that = win.

          TeamXbox Review - 8.1

I was surprised at how much I liked this game. Hand it to Raven Software for building a movie-based game as a game first, and worrying about the tie-in later. Who cares if the movie sucks; this time around it might be the game version that is the one that’s worth checking out.
          Videogamer Review - 7

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an extremely competent hack 'n' slash that achieves exactly what developer Raven set out to do: deliver a real Wolverine experience. This isn't the feral X-Man as family-friendly super-hero, but a full-on blood thirsty killer. The combat is fast and fun, the presentation often hugely impressive and Wolverine's shreddable body almost worth the asking price alone. Sadly a lot of repetition brings the whole package down, and there are a few too many little glitches, but if you've always wanted to play as Wolverine without the muzzle, this is what you've been waiting for.

this game may get repetitive, but the gore and action earns it a rental at least. It's just fun..

Mike, Frys has this for $44.99 so I wanted to give you a heads up before you crack it open. At that price, this is enticing.

The first helicopter scene is one of the coolest scenes I've ever seen in a videogame. Awesomely gory!

No PS3 demo? I just checked and never saw it. The report earlier said it was out. I guess it's out on the European PSN.

So I see you buckled and bought it. How is the game? I heard comparisons to God of War style.

Yeah, a God of War comparison is very good. It's very, very violent. You are chopping off limbs, heads, stabbing, impaling, etc. Blood is everywhere. It's basically all the things you would WANT to do while being Wolverine. It's repetitive as any hack and slash type game is, but it's brutally, mindless fun. Plus the cut scenes and dialogue are all top notch.
