man, thats a tough question. There are so many classics.

I am playing the original Sonic right now, as I am huge Sonic fan, but have displeased to say the least with where they've taken the series on the next-gen.

I am a huge fan of the Streets of Rage series and look forward to playing through those. But the game that I'm having a huge blast with right now is Congo-Bongo. I've forgotten how fun and addicting this game is.

Still looking forward to playing thru the Golden Axe series, Shinobi, Phantasy Star, all the Sonics, all the SOR's, and Vector Man.

This game is well worth $30, well worth it.

Damn...I couldn't find this anywhere today. Both Gamestop's only had the opened "new" copies left which I refuse to buy, Target didn't have it, and Best Buy didn't have it either.

I'm going to check Wal-mart when I pick up my son, otherwise Amazon here I come.

Picked it up the day of release, and man...this is some compilation. Not quite sure if it's the best compilation ever (that title either goes to Midway Arcade Treasures 2, NAMCO Museum 1 or Arcade's Greatest Hits Vol. 2) but it's pretty close. The addition of the "obscure" titles put me off at first, but some of them are pretty enjoyable ("Super Thunder Blade", which I've never played, especially).

I was transported back to a simpler time when playing through Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage, back when licensed player names were revolutionary and the amount of pitches the CPU took wasn't so crucial...those were the days, all right.

Also, for those that done know, you can stretch the picture AND smooth out the graphics by pushing select. Just FYI

it was a nice collection worth the price, but like most things Sega does these days, they still managed to mess it up.

This "ultimate" collection lacks the ability to play locked on versions of Sonic with Knuckles. It's kind of a big omission, as Sonic 3 + Knuckles was literally how the game was supposed to be played. Not only was this included in the Sonic Mega Collection released years ago on the Gamecube, but it is incredibly easy to do with the kind of emulator on the disk used to play these roms. Sega then releases a XBLA version of Sonic and Knuckles with the lock on ability, only 6 months later. Buying all of the Sonic games off XBLA to do this costs more than the whole ultimate Genesis Collection.
