We just care about different things then, as this was meant to be a definitive collection of Sega Genesis classics. My complaint is is pretty much regarded as the only major flaw in this otherwise fine collection. Never once did I say not to buy this, as I even own it for the 360. This was made for Sega fans after all, and they left off the ability to play Sonic 3 the way it was intended to be played. Sega even mentions it in the history section in the collection.

it was a nice collection worth the price, but like most things Sega does these days, they still managed to mess it up.

This "ultimate" collection lacks the ability to play locked on versions of Sonic with Knuckles. It's kind of a big omission, as Sonic 3 + Knuckles was literally how the game was supposed to be played. Not only was this included in the Sonic Mega Collection released years ago on the Gamecube, but it is incredibly easy to do with the kind of emulator on the disk used to play these roms. Sega then releases a XBLA version of Sonic and Knuckles with the lock on ability, only 6 months later. Buying all of the Sonic games off XBLA to do this costs more than the whole ultimate Genesis Collection.

Heh, I would be way more upset about the Sonic Ultimate collection not including Revenge of Shinobi (my #1 favorite Genesis game), Super Hang-On, Super Monaco GP and Space Harrier II than I was about the feature you mention that's being omissed in Sonic with Knuckles. But that may be because I've been mostly an arcade gaming nut, and I was -- shockingly to some -- never a huge Sonic fan.

But anyway... what I'm really waiting for from Sega is a Saturn Collection with the likes of Virtua Fighter 2, Sega Rally Championship, Sega Touring Car Championship, Virtua Cop series, Virtual On series, etc. I would buy this one in a minute if it were to come out.

Sure, they left off notable titles. Sega had a Wii VC release of Revenge of Shinobi, but it's been altered a few times since it was released due to licensing issues. They'll never be able to put the original in any compilation. However, the issue with playing any of the Sonic games with Knuckles shouldn't exist, as all the roms are already on the disc. It's an insanely easy thing to do, would have taken them mere minutes to write the code.

Like I said, it's disappointing, but didn't keep me from buying this already awesome compilation at $30. I can always play my sonic 3 + knuckles on my pc, but I would have liked it to be in a legit 360/ps3 compilation by Sega.

Oh I'm definitely picking this up. I had a genesis when I was like 6 years old and all I played was Streets of Rage. It is $19.99 at bestbuy!

I picked this game up for $15 new at gamestop after getting a haircut the other day. BAD ***. I never had a genesis, so this is like a dream come true from my childhood =P So far im just picking up the trophies that I can, and enjoying games like Fatal Labyrinth (although I thought htis game had more depth to it until I read about it on the internet) and Beyond Oasis. This collection actually stopped me from playing The Show and Final Fantasy for several days lol.

Considering that I got 40+ games for cheaper than it is to get 2 of them for Wii virtual console, I think it's an absolute no brainer.
