Re: Mass Effect 2
nearing the end of the game in my Insanity playthrough with a Sentinel. Insanity mode on ME2 is much more fun and better than Insanity mode on ME1. so far there was only one real tough part for me.Spoilerwhen you first go into the collector's ship and get "ambushed".
other than that, it's been great. not too easy, not too hard. died a few times because of stupid decisions on my part or on times where I would vault over cover when I didn't want to.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
husks weren't much of a problem for me as a Sentinel(except the Scions guys, those things are annoying and kills your squadmates in one hit). 1 warp take off all their armor. a few seconds of SMG on their health or a throw to make them fly. repeat while running backwards and I'm safe.
Spoilerthe boss fight was still easy, even on Insanity. I never lost my shields once.Last edited by Solidice; 02-14-2010, 04:07 PM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I'm really taking my time through this game trying to soak in everything. I still have 3 team members to recruit and a lot of loyalty quests unfinished. It's crazy how much polish they put on it. The graphics are just beatiful.
The combat is still nice but I don't like the inclusion of ammo. I play Infiltrator and always run out of ammo for my sniper rifle (sniping is just so satisfying this time around). I don't like having to look for ammo period. I liked it much better when the weapons generated "ammo" and all you had to worry about was overheating. How did the technology go backwards?
My favorite team so far is Tali and Grunt with the Salarian coming in as main alt. The rest just seem kind of "eh" to me, but I haven't recruited the full team yet. Jack is okay but she seems to get killed a lot, always jumping on top of crates to shoot instead of taking cover behind them. Teammates as a whole seem a bit aggressive to me though.
I'm playing on Veteran difficulty my first time around and I've gotten mashed a lot, lotta Resumes and Reloads for me but getting bettter as I go along.
Probably going to romance Tali. I would have gone for her in the first one had she been an option, she's always been the one I thought had the most personality, and she has the widest hips. My Shepard got with Ashley in the first game and I was hoping there would be some way to get her back. Miranda is good looking but I don't like her personality so far (yet to do her loyalty mission). Jack....no, just no. Amaru Shepard isn't interested. I wonder what Liara is up to.
Going to get back at it, gotta hand to Bioware, they know what the hell they are doing, this is another great one.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Personally, I like the ammo thing. I liked the overheating from the first game, too, though. Honestly, I liked both. I would've been fine with either. Although I haven't played as an Infiltrator yet, so maybe the ammo thing would bug me once I start using a sniper rifle. Who knows?Comment

Overheating was fine too...either isn't really bad.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
personally, I prefer the heatsink clip to the overheating from ME1. by the end of the game in ME1 you basically never overheated, felt like cheating.
the only class I can see having an issue with ammo in ME2 is Infiltrator with the sniper rifle. maybe the Vanguard's shotgun early on, but Vanguard is close quarters so you'll easily pick up ammo while charging around melee/shotgunning everything.Last edited by Solidice; 02-14-2010, 10:13 PM.Comment

I ran through on normal with my Infiltrator imported from ME1.
Have an adept (new guy) part of the way through (have Ark, Jack, Zaeed, Mordin) on veteran and that seems ok...I usually only die when I'm dumb and vault unexpectedly or get caught without good cover (my fault).
I want to do a new game+ with the Infiltrator too, would Hardcore be better or is it worth running on Insanity? I don't want it to be too frustrating, but I'll have my quality sniper and whatnot, so should be a little better than starting fresh on Insanity.
I like the Adept, but just miss being able to sit and snipe, controlling the battle that way....Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Omega IMO is the hardest part of INSANITY. You have no upgrades and the Krogan and Volcha regen like a champ.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Mass Effect 2
IMO, Sentinel would make Insanity real easy(it was for me anyway). I think Infiltrator is likely the 2nd best choice for an Insanity run. Incinerate maxed out will be a huge help. I always took Miranda with me, her passive team health/damage boost helped out a lot.
Vanguard would probably be the toughest class for Insanity.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
the Vanguard class is more fun than the others to me, but at the same time, it can be very hard since you're basically in the enemies face all game. if you play it smart, you should be ok. don't go charging into a big group of enemies.Comment
