Re: Mass Effect 2
Insanity is definitely tough. On the first mission I died like 5 times when the stupid dog-like mechs kept rushing me and couldn't kill them in time lol
Have to manage my team better for sure, can't rely on them to act on their own like I had been...plus Jacob's not my favorite squad member, so it'll be better when I get someone more useful.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I'm interested in trying out a new class. I was a vanguard in ME1 and ME2, but did not enjoy it as much in the second game as I did the first for some reason. I didn't use charge as much as I thought I would (it's basically just a finishing move) and for some reason I couldn't get pull to work properly. Not sure if I was just doing it wrong or what but it seemed a bit glitchy to me, like it only worked part of the time.
as for trying out new class, Sentinel is a fun class to me. pretty balance with the biotics and Tech powers. they start with level 1 throw and Tech Armor.Last edited by Solidice; 02-15-2010, 03:25 AM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
were you using it on people that still had armor/shields/barrier? some powers only work when an enemies defensives are down. Pull and Throw are examples that come to mind. I don't really use pull with my Vanguard though, focus mainly on Charge, Shockwave, and my bonus talent Reave. but when I make Jacob use Pull on an enemy that has no armor/shield/barrier, it works every time(I think Krogans might have a chance to not get thrown/pulled though).

As for the sentinel, what are the abilities it can get biotic and tech wise? I mean, if I can have a combat drone and some biotic powers I would be sold.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I love 'Reave' I'm doing another playthrough as an Engineer and I selected that as my start-up bonus and I have everything covered Barrier/Armor = Reave & Shields = OverloadComment

Re: Mass Effect 2
you start with Throw and Tech Armor. you have to have level 2 throw in order to get Warp. level 2 Tech Armor to get Overload, and level 2 OVerload to get cryo Blast. I never used Cryo Blast though.
Tech Armor is a great power though. it boost your shields(up to 100%), and it stays active until you lose your shields, and when that happens your shield will have a "blast" wave that could knock down nearby enemies. at level 4, the Power Armor evolution can boost power ability +15%. also it only has a 12 second cooldown base(lower if you put points into class skill to reduced cooldown), so if you lose shields, you can activate it again and regain your shields. came in very handy on Insanity for me.
Overload, Warp, and Tech Armor would be the main focus in powers. I used Armor Piercing Ammo for my bonus talent(only could get it to level 3 though). you could, however, use Reave as bonus talent and forget about getting Warp. could allow you to put more into throw, or you could forget about throw(1 point is put into it automatically though) and try Cyro blast.Last edited by Solidice; 02-15-2010, 01:39 PM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I love the Tempest submachine gun.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Once you finally figure out how which powers to use and when, it really makes the game more fun. I didn't really understand the whole warp, overload etc until a bit ago now I can really do some damage depending on the type of enemy I'm facing.Comment

I didn't use them much on Veteran as they weren't really needed but on the higher difficulties they are. Incinerate is crucial as well.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I think that's kind of the point. For example my crazy sniper rifle...if I never ran out of ammo, i'd never use the other guns,...so at least it kind of makes it more tense and you don't waste ammo on an unworthy enemy if you can get by without it.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
^ Yea the Vindicator runs out of ammo quick...I sort of wish they kept some of the upgrades type of thing...maybe after a big boss(although I guess there aren't too many)..there could be random "loot" after..that way maybe you could get extended mags...or ammo types. But I can't wait to get to use the geth rifle....didn't get to the first time...but this time around I should be able to.
On vet I also didn't use many powers either...most of the time I just let my team automatically use their powers and I just used shockwave and charge. Seeing as I haven't upgraded my incinerate yet...should I do heavy? I am guessing that is what you guys are using since you find it so helpful, I haven't found it helpful :SComment
