Huge bump, but don't want to clutter the ME3 thread..

I just finished the story this morning.

I lost SEVERAL people in the suicide mission. Jack got killed before we ever landed and so did Kasumi. Thane, Legion, and Samara also died..

Was there a way to prevent Jack and Kasumi's death early on ? It seemed like it was sort of built in to the story.

Overall, this is one of the best games I've ever played.

Yes. You can prevent every death. I'm guessing you sided with Miranda and Tali during the argument scenes? Other than that...didn't upgrade the ship? Skipped loyalty missions? Made poor choices in the end?

I think it has to do with the upgrades you got for the people, and the upgrades to the ship. Jack never died on the ship when I played, she died holding off the collectors while we destroyed the reaper... EVERY TIME I PLAYED.

Check the Wiki for Mass Effect 2. It has huge spoilers obviously, but I found answers to all of the things I faced in the game, I used it to move the plot the way I wanted it to go. But I wouldn't recommend it if you want to go blind. And yes, you can get through the last mission with everyone alive, I'm waiting for ME3 to come out and see what the very last decision does for its plot.

Dammit I'm pissed. I was going to gamefly this game an finish it because I absolutely live this game. So I figure let me get the first one an beat it too....well I didn't know the first one wasn't made for the ps3. Basically there is know way for me to ever play it.....I'm not buying a 360 for one game. Arghhh this is ridiculous. I feel like punching a kitten (not serious)

The first one (along with part 2) is available for the PC though, if you have one of those. 11 bucks on Amazon, free.99 if you know where to look.

I agree, you can get the PC version of ME1 for under $10 on sale. The PC version of ME runs so much better than the 360 version which is night and day if you have a decent enough setup.

ME 2 has a comic on PS3 to fill in the choices for ME 1. I don't know if it's a download or on the disc.

If you buy it new, it comes with it for free.

If you buy it used, I think there's a chance that the dlc has been used.

I bought a used copy and it still worked.

I just beat this game and I'm all ready starting over again. It's that damn good! I suggested this to one of my friends, last night and he said he would go pick up a copy today.

The only bad thing about the comic is some of the smaller quest choices, or character choices, are already decided for you.

It's nice they added the comic, but there was quite a bit that they left out which stinks when having played ME. I started this all over again last night on PS3 and just felt the comic was cool, but would have been cool if some kind of 1-2 hour playable prequel was available without touching the 360 assets since they can't bring over that game and include some cutscenes as a way to bring the full story to PS3 owners. The comic will have to do.
