I doubt I'll ever play this game on Insane... but I'm having a LOT of fun right now with it. Can't believe I haven't bought it months ago
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

Plus, I loved warp ammo and using Mordin's incinerate constantly during that playthrough.
I made it through as well with all my team members on Insane, like you I had to use the sentinel and the tech armor saved my life countless times. I chose Reave as my bonus ability and it really shined when having to deal with the collectors always having 'barrier'. The worst dudes are those things (can't remember) that have shockwave and armor, almost tossed my controller through the wall dealing with them.

I completely forgot about tech armor. Yes, that save my *** countless times as well. I used reave on occasion too. I switched up my bonus a few times. I know what things you're talking about: scions. Yes, they were annoying as hell. Having Mordin around with his incinerate helped a lot on those.

Shockingly my bro messed stuff up on insane with a basic soldier. He use the slowdown thing and did massive damage to people.

insanity in ME2 felt really easy, at least compared to what I remember ME1 insanity was. I didn't play as a soldier in ME2, but as a Sentinel, Vanguard, Adept, and Infiltrator, I didn't have that much trouble with deaths. I died the most with Vanguard, mostly because I loved using the charge ability all the time and ended up in the middle of 4-5 bad guys too often.

Sentinel was a cake walk in insanity, only died once(and it was my very first playthrough of the game). that class was overpowered IMO. Still my favorite class though, just above Vanguard.

See I was completely opposite. A level 60 insanity run through on ME 1 was so easy for me than a insanity run on ME 2.

Insanity? That's a difficulty? I just thought it was a mental condition...

See, I play Normal on ME and other BioWare RPGs, and Easy on everything else. I like to beat games, not get bogged down with frustration over stupid *** exploding alien collector things with laser beams.

I only played on insanity on the first 2 playthroughs in ME2(with Sentinel & Vanguard) really. after that I played on normal for most of the game(I played around in a few parts on insanity).

like most games, It's not really "harder", they just give the enemies more health/shields/armor/resistance instead of better intelligence or strategy, so it just takes longer to kill them and doesn't change your tactics that much other than "I need run and hide behind a wall every once in a while to regen my health while the AI just stands there not taking advantage of my weak state".

you might be right, It's been a long time since I played ME1 and the last time I did play it, it was on PC, so it could have been different than the 360 version. I do remember dying more in ME1, but it could have just been the way I was playing.

Yeah, I know it takes longer, but damn...on my Adept playthrough tonight I died four times with Garm during the Archangel mission, and two times with the Vorcha with the door sealing thing. I know I rush, but I don't have the patience to "pop and shoot" or whatever is needed. Still, at least the game offers difficulty levels, there are enough out there that don't offer such options.

I'm about to start my Mass Effect 2 run after my save got wiped out. I just bought The Lair of the Shadow Broker, is there any other DLC that is essential? I'm thinking I could skip Kasumi but there seems to be 2 others related to the Reapers.

I was hesitant on getting this since I didn't have an Xbox for the first one. May pick this up since everyone talks about it, its cheap on PS3 since ME 3 is dropping and i need a good rpg (F U Square.).

The Kasumi DLC has a pretty entertaining story and Kasumi is a great squadmate.
