When I imported my character it had 3 key decisions that impacted the story in ME2. One was whether or not you killed Wrex, the other was killing or saving the council and the last one was saving either that girl or Alenko. Those were the 3 decisions that showed up on one of the new game menus when I imported my guy. I think the romance one will likely have an impact as well, however that one wasn't listed. I know that on the captains quarters in the Normandy, my character has a picture of Williams (the soldier girl, forget her name) since I chose her as the romance option instead of that alien.

Re: Mass Effect 2
You get experience points for completing missions and assignments. It is a 1,000 points per a level up and there are 30 levels available to level up to. And you get 2 talent points and 2 squad points per a level up.Comment

BTW, I'm pretty sure that you can set the results of that major stuff when you create your character, so you can keep more continuity with how you remember the first.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
There's no real list (yet...I'm sure there will be eventually though). The big ones and the romance were already mentioned in the thread, so the only other I could add is that how you treated the fan and a couple choices on The Citadel were mentioned as carrying over at one point.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Have you tried loading the last save (the autosave before Saren) and beating the game once more to get the new save on the new HDD?
Sucks that it doesn't work. Saves were always tied to the GT and not the HDD except for DLC where they were tied to both. Odd.Comment

So you have a save from ME 1 but it doesn't load up?

Re: Mass Effect 2
I had to do it last week as one of my saves it ME1 was questionable so I just ran through it. Took about 15 hours to do the game and all side quests but worth it. Especially since all decisions from 1 and 2 will carry over in the 3rd.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Oh. Sorry man, but I would definitely stop and run through ME1 and do most of the side quests and just skip the convos.

Re: Mass Effect 2
A lot of people from the smaller quests show up, the woman who you talk to before you recruit Thane gave you a mission in the first game and she'll mention that quest when you show up. I've also seen Helena Blake, I've gotten an email from the husband of the soldier whose body the alliance wanted to study, and there's lots of other people from the first game who show up in some way so it's not just the huge choices that will be in the game.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
you can run into a few people from ME1 on Illium(SP?). the human woman from Noveria(Gianni I think her name was) if you did her deal, if you saved the Rachni Queen, you'll get a message from her(not directly of course), and a colonist from Feros Colony to name a few. some even have a mini-quest that you can do. I know I've run into more, but I forget right now.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
So ... I should probably do all the sidequests too in ME1, is what you're all saying. Sounds good.Comment

I know I read somewhere that you could though...maybe they scrapped the idea or were mistaken?Comment
