Re: Mass Effect 2
As a noob to this series what are some of the 1st things I should be doing. I want to take my time and experience the whole game. I don't wanna start and then have to restart because I did something or missed something along the way. Should I get the strategy guide? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Re: Mass Effect 2
That's fast. I am almost at 28 hours and I have 3 people left to recruit, 4 loyalty missions with my current crew and a couple of sides ready still. I must be slow.
Did anyone buy the hampster? It's an expensive pet.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I am loving the mission variety in this game. While most of it is shoot everything from Point A to Point B, they throw in some different looks. I also like the Quick Time interuptions. I keep thinking if I didn't interrupt how much would the story change.
Thanes Loyalty Mission Spoilers
SpoilerKeep reading if you did the renegade interrogation already.
SpoilerWhile interrogating the prisoner, I chose the Red Renegade response and ended the scene quickly. I reloaded it to see if choosing the regualr renegade response drew out the scene and I was able to beat answers out of the prisoner. I wonder if that will come back to bite me. Awesome.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Guys as little as some of the things might seem... please use spoilers for everything.
What makes a great game is ALL the little details. So when some things that are seemingly small get posted it does jeopardize taking away from others enjoyment of discovery etc..

Re: Mass Effect 2
Listen to the codex for brief introductions to Characters and Species just to get a feel for the universe, especially if you didn't play any of the original. After that, the best suggestion I have is to make a decision and stick with it. Don't go back on previous saves to make a different decision and don't worry about missing too much. Just be sure to talk to your crew after missions and to complete their Help/Loyalty missions.

Re: Mass Effect 2
This game is brilliant.
I'm savoring every minute of it. I'm taking my time and doing every possible side mission, etc. in the game. This game is VAST. EPIC.
There is sooooo much to do everywhere. You can spend an hour or more just walking around the Normandy and chatting it up with your crew members.
The planets/cities are gorgeous, the voice acting is superb and the atmosphere is incredible on my surround sound system. Walking around the marketplace on the Asari homeworld, with the sun setting, the whizz of the ships flying around, the side conversations.
God..this game is phenomenal. As good if not better than the first Mass Effect. I feel like I'm in a Star Wars movie.
Love it.
And I LOOOOVE the simplification of the combat/weapons upgrades in this version. The biggest pain in the butt was having to constantly delete and move items around. Much cleaner this time around and with little to no negative effect on the experience.
I feel bad for PS3 only folks right now..this game is gonna be right up there for Game of the Year.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: Mass Effect 2
Oh man is this game epic...I just got to picking my class...the graphics are vastly improved to add...the dialogue choice box...thing or whatever you want to call it is a lot cleaner and crisper looking and so on...
So now to picking...Vanguard or Soldier? I enjoyed shotguns in ME1 a lot...and AR's as well...so I am fine with either. But not able to use heavy armor is kind of a turn off for me with Vanguards, but I love being able to just to charge up and destroy my enemies....so I will ask you OP what you think..hopefully by the time I get back to the game I have my answer...taking a quick break.

I'm already about 9 hours in and I feel like I'm still in the "prologue" phase of the game.
