Re: Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time (PS3)

Okay, this will sound like a stupid question but I've been holding off on playing Quest for Booty because I'm stuck somewhere that I can't seem to get past. I don't know if anyone else that has this game can help me out.

Simply, how do you grapple/swing across things? I'm at Darkwater Cove and there's this one place where I have to do to the right (from the starting point) and there are three pillars that rise up from the green water and sink back down. Across the way is this lit up ball thing that I think I am supposed to swing from. Only, for two months now, I haven't a clue how I'm supposed to do this! I think my game might be stuck or something at the same time... like it's supposed to let me grapple and swing across, but I can't.

Anyone ever heard of this? What is the control to do this anyway?

    Thanks.

I forget how to do it on Quest for Booty, but in the new one all you do is press up on the d-pad, and it brings up the swingshot. Jump and press the circle button and you should grab the ball thing and swing from it.

        Ah, I don't think I've tried the D-pad!

I may give it a shot in just a second, thanks! The downside of having a purchased downloadable game is there isn't a manual with it.

EDIT: Well, up on the D-pad seems to do nothing unfortunately. Maybe I'm just screwed then.

EDIT: Got it! I just had to hold onto circle... while jumping! Oh my goodness... two months and I've finally advanced! Whoopee!!!

It really is a great game.

Only problem is playing it multiple times, collecting everything. That was a bit tedious, since after you beat the game it is really easy the second time.

I am having a blast with this game so far......but the only complaint that I have which was getting annoying was those darn puzzles with Clank. Some took way too long to finish, just irritating at times. I have logged in about 10 hours+ so far and still have a lot to do with the main story. I am at the point where you

Last night I also started going to the small planets to also finish those up. I do not know how hard this game is to platinum, but I might give it a shot. If not, at the most get as much of the trophies as possible.

It shouldn't be too hard to platinum, but you need 2 playthroughs to do it. I only need to do the 2nd playthrough and get 10,000 points on that stupid game, and I will have it

That is not too bad then. Do you bring all your upgrades into the second playthrough or are you starting all over again?

Pretty sure you bring your upgrades with you. I got most of the trophies on the first playthrough and got the last few on my second playthrough and it was way too easy since youve got all your upgraded weapons making it really easy to blow right through everything. Awesome game though, cant wait for another one to get released sometime in the future.

Challenge mode is a breeze, but you don't want to go into it right after you play the game the first time. After you beat the game the first time you'll be given the option to go back in time before beating the final boss or go directly into challenge mode. You'll want to go back in time so you can pick up the rest of the Zoni, Gold Bolts, and Ryno plans. Then just beat the boss again and play challenge mode. So are you playing on the hard difficulty right now? If not, it'll take three playthroughs for you to get the platinum. Challenge mode is easy because you're weapons stay at the level they were and you can buy an upgrade for each that will allow you to upgrade them all the way to version 10.

But yeah, that My Blaster Runs Hot game, is hard to get 10k. It took me about 3 days and probably 50 plays to get it LOL.

I, surprisingly to myself, was able to zoom through those parts with Clanks puzzles. This game was awesome though. I wish my Ps2 hadn't have broken when these games first started coming out. I missed the first one and was always interested in it but didn't have the money. I never got to play the Ratchet and Clank series till Secret Agent Clank on the PSP. That game was great too and I'm really looking forward to more Ratchet and Clank games.

The only Clank puzzles I had a problem with were the 3 or 4 that you have to do to get the gold bolts. The story related ones I thought weren't too bad, but the gold bolt ones were pretty tough.

I'm working on the Ratchey & Clank: ACIT Platinum.................this has to be one of the most enjoyable games I have played this generation and just very time consuming. Lets put it this way, I have Red Dead also sitting here and I have been so engrossed with Ratchet.......once I'm done with this one, here I come Red Dead. I still have the Hard playthrough to do, Challenge Mode playthrough, My Blaster Runs Hot, and a few more trophies. I'm around 20 hours.

Loved the game but that My Blaster Runs Hot game really drove me nuts. If you have anyone that can play it with you then it becomes much easier as you can resuscitate each other when you die if you do it quick enough. Other then that I really enjoyed playing through the game and hope there is another one in the works for this generation of consoles.
