I don't have it but from everything I've read here and on reviews, the combat is mostly the same as AC1 and the side quests are a ton better than the last game and it isn't repetitive..

The battle system is very similar. I have not gotten far in the game and I can tell you most group battles have been 1 v 1 like in AC1. That might be a big turn off for some people.

As for the other stuff, I really have not dived into any side quests, but I assume there are a LOT of them.

I love this game; the more I play/further I get just reaffirms this is the GOTY for me. An improvement on the first in just about every way possible. It incorporates elements of other games so well (RPG element, the combat element, sandbox element, etc.) to make itself feel very unique. I laugh every time you have a bard (? not sure what they are) annoy you and you have to do something to get him to leave you alone - I like throwing money - and that some are more annoying than others. Combat is a little on the easy side but given all the options you're given it's still enjoyable. Graphics are fantastic, story is great. And a lengthy game; I'm 20+hours in and not even halfway through - not trying to rush though. Excellent game.
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

It's not 1 on 1, if you are attacking someone another guy will attack you and if you start getting hit by one guy everyone else will start atacking you.

I love the Assasination side missions, those alone are more varied than anything in the first game.

The fighting in AC1 was easier. Used to just go up to enemies and stab em so easily, not as much so now and I think that is a good thing.

Yeah they were really dumb in the first one too. I was able to assassinate guards right in front of other guards and they wouldn't do anything.

Yeah....I was surprised at how long the beginning is. Just now do I start to have all the tools to be able to be bad ***. Also, took me a little while to get used to how he runs/jumps, what jumps I can make and those I can't, etc.

It's a long time in the game until you unlock the Villa and whatnot, so give it time until it hits its stride. I thought things were kinda slow at first, but it makes sense given the story and whatnot....

Even climbing some of the bldgs. isn't so straight forward. AC1 it was very easy.

Same here. I like the scouting and planning involved.

This and the beat up missions are the only sides I am doing. Right now I can't stand the race and courier missions.

Same here. One courier mission that they have you deliver to 3 people that are so far outside the main compound. No way can this be achieved under a min! WTF?

The first and only race I did, was the first one that was available. I failed twice, because of bouncing off a wall or hanging on the ledge instead of jumping on the tight rope. I wanted to quit and exit out, but I was stuck in the mission.

I will most likely go back to these missions once my comfort level in Parkour gets better.

I like the fighting much much more in AC2. The AC1 combat felt much more like buttonmashing to me, with only a few moves (punch, duck, disarm). In the new version there seem to be more moves.

I have had this since release but finally played it tonight for a couple hours. I finished the first DNA sequence, which seems like the game is basically getting ready to start.
