For those on PS3: How is it holding up technically? Sounds like neither version is particularly great, but is the frame rate, loading, pop-in, crashes and glitches really as horrifyingly bad as some are making it out to be?

As long as it isn't freezing up on me, I'm fine with it. Of course you'll find some frame rate issues, glitches/bugs here and there but is it a game killer? No. Not at all.

            Poison boxing gloves.

Even though I've just been messing around and reloading in Good Springs I haven't had any freezing or crashing on the PC. Only using the basic patch and RAM extender.

I've had one freeze in 7 hours of play time. A few hiccups with the framerate every few minutes but it only last a second. So far it is improved over Fallout 3 in the technical aspect. Loading times are very fast.

Oh and anyone else with the PC version and more than 4 gigs of RAM should use this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloa...e.php?id=35262

It enables the game to access up to 4 gigs to use instead of the default 800mb. Should reduce freezing, glitches etc.
I tried that when it came out and it actually made my game hitch/stutter to the point where it was unplayable. But, my game had been doing that prior just not nearly as bad or with such high frequency. Talking about hitching/stuttering once ever 10-15min to every 15-30 seconds. I don't know if it was the vid card (8800GT) or a combination of mods or what. I'm working on doing a clean install with a GTX470 so I'll try it again and see how it plays.

I have been freezing up more lately on PS3 than when I first started. It could be because I progressed further in the story. Load times are longer now and frame-rate dips every now and then. I don't listen to the radio because of these things.

It is bad and considering it is the same exact things that FO3 crashed on, gamers seem to be more angry and rightfully so. With that in mind it crashes just as it did in FO3, so I can deal with it. If you played through that then you will feel right at home with this one.

Side note: I am playing on the original Fat 60gb PS3.

Yeah, I'd been fine until I got the 360 DLC save corruption where you can't re-load your saves...

I know other systems don't have that one right now though...just all the other glitches.

Probably the worst release of a game since the Front Page Sports 99 game that actually didn't work and was recalled.

Did you start the game before you dled the patch? I got the same issue, but it did not occur until after I got the patch, then I was screwed. Wondering if those that patch before they begin anything have less issues.....

I started it last Tuesday, so i guess so...there's a lot of randomness relating to all of this, people who haven't touched DLC getting the issue, people who haven't touched the "Come Fly With Me" quest line, etc. Just doesn't make a lot of sense.

So how long is the main story? I was under the impression it was fairly long.

Fairly long indeed. Add in the break you likely will have to take at one point in the game, and you have a solid game without all of the side stuff.

                                That point is:
