What's your price range? Are you looking for a full 5.1 setup or just 2 stereo speakers?
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
I'd like a full setup. I'd pay a couple hundred bucks, but I want quality. Never afraid to pay a little premium for extra quality. Prevents me from spending more in the future.
Actually I just bought new speakers for my new PC setup. Klipsch 4.1 speakers. 1 Sub and 4 Satalites. So far I'm very impressed with the sound, got the package for around $180 with shipping from a vendor on pricewatch.com. They aren't 5.1 speakers, but from what I hear these are the best speakers for the PC. I wonder if I can get another set of these for the TV? Maybe I answered my own question, but I still want to hear everyone's input on speakers. I'll also be watching dvd's from this tv as well.Comment

Re: Good Speakers?
Yeah, in that price range I would def. go for the other Klipsch system. The ProMedia 5.1 Speaker System is an excellent system for the price IMO.
Now, if you already have a pre-amp or receiver, then we can talk about other speaker packages, but the Klipsch system is a good deal because if comes with the 5.1 decoder.Comment

Yeah, I just hope that it can really fill the room with quality sound (not too tinny). I can pick up the 5.1 package for around $350.Comment

That's the real challenge. If you're looking to knock your socks off then this prob. won't do it. If you want to wait until you can afford what you really want, then I would. You can do some nice things with around $800-$1000. Again, if you're not building a home theater or big time gaming area, then the klipsch should satify.
Also, this speaker set is pretty good if you have a receiver Acoustic Research HC6Comment

Re: Good Speakers?
How does the current Bose system (the one that retails for around $1000) measure up to "knocking off my sox?" I'd def pay more for a great system that I'll probably never need to upgrade (unless it breaks or something of that nature).

Rather than go on for days about Bose...I'll just say, STAY AWAY!!They really are the most overhyped speaker that doesn't really deliver. When it comes to speakers there are hundreds of different manufactures and many make quality value speakers.
Some favs of mine are Axiom, Boston Acoustics, Paradigm, and Onix. Here are a couple of different packages that require you to have a receiver or pre-amp and amp.
Axiom Epic Micro System
Rocket Loudspeakers HT Package # 8
But, like I said, we can really get out of hand! In my opinion, if you like the Klipsch sound (kinda bright) and are enjoying the 4.1 system you have now, I'd go with the Promedia 5.1. It's simple and comes with everything. Just please stay away from BoseComment
