    Yep. That's me.

It's one reason I'm interested when I hear screams of "Game X is too short!". Although I find games claiming 100+ hours of gameplay to be impressive, I know I won't see more than 10-15 of it.

I don't buy any games that will take longer than 25 hr. for me to finish.

What I hate about "most" of the newer generation of gamers is the "Buy game...but strategy(Cheat book) guide the scream..That game was easy...I finished so and so game in just a few hours!"

My second problem is the younger gamers that play a game for only an hour or two then post messages that they are stuck and want the secrets/answers. Man back in the day I could be days in one area but when I finally solved it it felt great.
I just don't get it. I want the bang for my buck....

Well, that's the way I used to feel. But once it crosses the line between fun and frustrating, I'm done with that puzzle. I'll either check gamefaqs, or just move on to another game. My gaming time is precious, and I can get my frustration elsewhere.

In fact, this was one thing I found perfect in the new Zelda. The puzzles were speedbumps. Enough to make you stop and puzzle it out for a few minutes, but not much more.

I used to get into games that you had to solve, but now I only play sports games. GTA3 and Vice City are the only non sports games I have bought in years.

Well that's where I differ. What you feel is frustrating I see as getting my moneys worth as a challenging game. I'll never take the shortcut route of cheating to finish a game/puzzle. My gaming time is also important to me but so is forking out $ for a good puzzle game. Not going to short change myself by cheating. Now yes if say after a week (or 2) I just can't go any further then I would consider it, but not after a few hours. If I got that way I would just stop playing those type of games. I glad these books weren't available in my early years or I also could have gotten used to the easy way out.

True, I guess im like that. I bought Splinter Cell in December and got all the way to Level 7 of 9 in the first week. I kept dying at the minefield. I put it down for up to 4 months till last week. When i was able to pass it to two more checkpoints where I now died like 5 straight times....damn, It gets frustrating not fun. Im now looking for games with as little involvement as possible, life is stressful enough for me.

So now shoot em ups, racing, and sports.

That's me... I used to play all the long adventure games such as Zelda, Metal Gear, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil as well as sports titles... now I'm just down to sports games and I have cut down on that as well... I didn't buy a hoops or hockey game this past season... the reason my gaming habits have changed can be traced to two things: one, the time factor or lack there of... and two, I am now out on my own and starting a family of my own... no house full of roommates to "team up" with on an adventure game or sports game... X-Box live helped a little with this but not so much that I expect to return to my "hard-core" gaming lifestyle... so those of you in high school and college, enjoy your time...

by the way... I find it funny that even though I now have the cash to buy games, I am much more selective in my choices... I used to buy a couple of football, basketball, baseball games and any game that interested me...

I agree with what someone said earlier where they said something to the effect of "Its more fun to buy the game than play it". I agree 100% for alot of the titles I buy. Currently on my desk I have about 5 games that I haven't even opened yet (Including BF 1942 and MVP2003 PC). I just don't have the desire to get into some of these games. I think the complexity of some games turns me off (I'm dreading that BF will be too hard and I 'll get my *** handed to me throughly by online players who are veterans). I think I actually enjoy coming on OS more and posting messages than actually playing the games, or maybe I'm just getting too old, and I'm only 22.
