I'm still trying to figure out how DEFT got 21 million on V12. STEROIDS!!!

EDIT: Of course, the game after I posted this I set a new high score at 3.4 million. I guess I should whine and complain more often.

EDIT 2: And would you believe it, the very next game I scored 14 million! The key is obviously getting high speed combos (5x ramps in a row, 1.9 million each time).

Nice job on getting 14 million. You are right, hit the ramps consecutively to get the Turbo ball. When you get the turbo ball and keep it going your score goes up up up. I need to pick this up and play again and try to beat you guys. Lot's of fun.

Yup...not only that, but that's also the way to earn a tire upgrade - by shooting ramps repeatedly. Once you earn that it's an instant 5 mil - but more importantly it also sets up Test Run Frenzy, a 3 ball multiball session where every shot is worth big points.

Back when me and Deftfundamentalz were playing multiplayer for the first time, we had games that just seemed to end randomly. I'm alomost positive now that was due to completing an upgrade.

Well when you play V12 again, try to beat my score of 30 million!

Nice!!! That is a great score man. I don't think I will be able to beat that!

Wow, nice. I haven't been able to sniff that on V12.

Question. Have they changed the MP modes at all? I really don't like the competing at the same time thing. I would like it if you could take turns just like in the arcade. Maybe it's not possible because of stability issues I don't know.

Taking turns in multiplayer would be awesome, because I would like to watch the other player and see what is going on. Hopefully they add that option in the future.

Also, why is the scoreboard disabled when you play local multiplayer? My friends and I like to play this game and we end up having to take turns on single player instead of doing the local multiplayer option because we don't want the scoreboards to be turned off.

I don't know why it is disabled for local MP. Makes no sense to me. It isn't like you are cheating when you are playing against a friend. The game plays the exact same way.

This is only a guess, mind you -

On most pinball machines (including these 4), the status of locked balls is the same for each player in a alternating multiplayer game. That means one player could lock the balls, but the other one could "steal" the multiball session and score a bunch of extra points. I'd imagine the ball capture in Shaman works the same way. It is a different type of game than single player because of that, and they are pretty insistent on only the "normal" game being recorded on the scoreboard.

It's kind of a weak line of reasoning though. I know they wanted an experience like the real thing, but they should have used the fact that it is still a video game to their advantage. I don't think resetting the table for each player would have been that hard - most people who play this probably wouldn't even notice it.

Yeah, that makes sense, but you are right, they could easily have made it so each player had their own table. Oh well, I guess the online multiplayer issues are the bigger concern. Hopefully they can get those running smoothly ASAP.

Just want to thank this thread for letting me know this game is out there. Zen Pinball is easily the best downloadable game I've played.

You people are really good at pinball, that or you really just know these tables really damn good. It's not hard to keep it in play, but I never rack up anything like that. I guess I should read the rules for each table and figure out how you go about chaining together ridiculous points to reach scores like that. I don't think I've scored more than 4 million on any table yet and I've played a solid 5-10 hours of this game. I'll play one table for like 30 minutes and still only score 2 or 3 million, it's bad.

Ahhh! I just came within two cylinders of lighting them all on V12. :

And that's only worth a bronze trophy!
