Does it automatically put you near friends in the crowd? I just got in a few minutes ago and am right next to EG.

Hit a direction on the d-pad or the left analog, then tap on the Y button. The faster you tap the Y, he'll do a different animation. There's like 8 animations that I've found (using the D-pad or the left analog).
