I don't really see anything wrong with Armor lock. In that particular video the guy should of been more patient. If he didn't fire the second rocket and just waited he would of eventually used up all of the armor locks juice.

He could of used grenades (assuming he had some) to either catch him coming out of armor lock or at least make him go back in and use it all up leaving him defenseless. If he caught him with a grenade when he came out then he could of saved a rocket and killed him with his secondary weapon.

even though i dont use armor lock (i prefer recon) i dont have a problem with it..just back off and catch him later. As for the rocket ..from what i understand is that if you shoot a rocket at someone with armor lock on that the rocket will return back at you...ie...dont shoot a rocket at armor lock...

That guy did come out of armor lock though. He came out and then was able to go back in a second time to deflect the second rocket. When you spawn with something that can eat two rounds (including killing the user with the second one) from the most powerful weapon in the game, thats overpowered.

Incredibly fun to let someone chase you, activate the camo and then stand still, they walk right by you and then BAM assassinate them and listen as they go "Holy ****!"
Definitely agree with you on Stalker being the favorite loadout. I love hiding in the dark spots on Swordbase and waiting for people to run by.

            Re: Halo: Reach

Got the beta yesterday and I'm LOVING IT! I love the Scout class, none of the other classes really interest me. The grenades everyone talks about being overpowered are just fine for me, the AR I find could use a bit of a power increase but it's fine the way it is, after all, it isn't designed for long range combat.

I then went into Arena with some friends and we just tore every team we faced to bits. I think we played 12'ish games and only lost 2 or 3. Arena is pretty fun, simply because I'm a slayer/ team slayer guy. I don't really like objective game types too much unless I'm playing with friends because randoms aren't organized, or they don't care about the objective.

The only thing I'd hope the change for the full game is the game selection once you have a game found. It always chooses the top as the default game (which in this case is always either Stockhouse or 1 Flag) and no one changes it, so all I literally played was Stockpile or 1 Flag (both game types I hate now by the way). They should leave the boxes by the games blank so the user has to choose what they want, because most people don't even change the option I've found.

All in all, this beta is simply amazing, and like others have said, can't wait for Invasion to come out (and the 3v3 Spartan vs Elite playlists to hit on May 14th!)

              Re: Halo: Reach

As someone mentioned before I have no problem with armor lock unless someone spams it, yes it is designed for deflecting attacks and such but I dont think it should be able to activate over and over and over again in the span of 2 seconds. It should be one usre then it has to recharge.

Plus the EMP effect is not right. An EMP disables electrical devices even at the source. In Reach the user of Armor lock can use it and get thier shields back to 100% while everyone else gets thier shields taken away....-_-.

Scout is probably my favorite loadout so far. Sprint is just crucial to keep you alive if you get attacked by 2 guys. I love sprinting out of sight, letting my shields charge, and then headhsotting them with the pistol or DMR.

I've rarely used the assault rifle so far. I just end up switching to the pistol as I spawn.

Yeah the AR is pretty useless. I shouldn't have expected much but I swear I remember reading somewhere (perhaps a link in this thread) where Bungie said the AR would be more powerful in Reach than it was in Halo 3.

And a side note, I am starting to learn how to use the grenade launcher. When used properly it is a thing of beauty.

I actually use the AR alot, mostly in close combat situations. I get rid of my pistol for the DMR, so I have DMR and AR with sprint. Love that setup for me

Ok you answered the question I was about to ask. I still can't use the grenade launcher properly. The only way I can use it is by bouncing the grenade directly into the person. Anybody else having some success with it?

And I only use the AR if I have nothing else.

From my time with the Beta so far, the AR is definitely a lot better than it was in Halo 3. Up close, firing it in controlled bursts instead of just holding down the trigger and you can take on just about any weapon.

Finally got around to playing yesterday after a busy week. Didn't play long but so far my thoughts are solid. Love the new BR.

One issue I had is one guy in the game was able to stay in camouflage mode the entire game.
