Quick question for anyone still playing. I was never a big Halo fan until I tried Halo Reach beta, I never liked all the jumping that was done.

I've been playing a lot more COD than any other shooter. Do you think I should get Halo 3 to practice online our should I hold off 2 more weeks until Reach comes out.

Halo and COD are total opposites in terms of game play. What do you guys think?

I'd just wait. Reach is pretty different from Halo 3 in a lot of respects. Halo 3 has not aged well (coming from a huge Halo fan), and Reach will be awesome.

Last one I played was Halo 3. I did g play ODST or whatever. Did it have a MP?

ODST only had a co-op multiplayer mode called 'Firefight'.

I loved every second of Halo 1's story. It compeltely engrossed me, the whole thing was wonderfully told.

Halo 2 was a pile of ****.

Halo 3's story bored me about half way through.

I really enjoyed ODST's story while many didn't.

That being said, knowing the backstory and ending already, can't wait to see how they tell it in Halo Reach.

i've never owned an FPS, and i've stayed away because I wasn't convinced there was any good storytelling happening. Any good PS3 FPS's with decent stories and strong online community? my best measuring stick right now is uncharted 2

Hmm, idk. I think Uncharted 2 is basically it....Mass Effect 2 when it comes to PS3 but thats a 3rd person RPG/shooter. Killzone 2 IMO didnt really have a story but was for Multiplayer.
Maybe Resistance, I did enjoy that story however I never played Resistance 2. (Has Multiplayer0
I didnt enjoy it but alot of people like MGS4 but that again is more 3rd person IMO than 1st. (I think it has Multiplayer)

Other genres with good stories are Valkyria Chronicals.....One of my favorite games on PS3. Probably is my Favorite. Its like a RTS, 3rd person shooter, RPG hybrid. (No multiplayer unfortunately)

As for online community I have no idea. Never played anything but Killzone 2 online on PS3 so I can not tell you anything about it.

Well yeah, but that was H3, MS included it to make it a 60 dollar expansion. I was just speaking of the ODST's multiplayer features.

The original Halo's campaign is definitely something I think every gamer should experience. You'll want to play the 2nd and 3rd one after that as well, although they aren't as good as the original.

EG, I do have to disagree with you on H2 campaign. I loved it. The ending had me raging of course, but I thought the dual characters was great. The Arbiter was a great character. One of my main complaints about H3's campaign is that they made the Arbiter an afterthought of a character.

The Cage looks pretty sweet for team slayer and team objective games. Kind of reminded me of Construct from Halo 3, which I really liked a lot.

Also, one of those looked a lot like Sanctuary from Halo 2.

edit: are any of these streams multiplayer only? I have no desire to spoil the single player, but wouldn't mind watching some multiplayer vids.

There is a remake of Sanctuary, called Asylum. Best map in the entire series!

As for streams, you just kind of have to look at the description and to to find multiplayer ones. They are pretty rare, most of the streams are just people messing around in forge actually.
