can someone help me out, I have LFD and LFD 2 coming, I'm playing LFD and I see single campaign, but why doesn't it have like a story mode, do I have to pick each level like that or does it run in like a continues story single player mode, if so how do i do this?

well, in the L4D series there really is no traditional story mode or single player campaign. The missions you run through are the same online or offline. The story comes from what the characters say to each other and the messages on the walls.

so you just pick the different levels and that's it right, doesn't matter to me, games still cool.

The passing wins as best campaign because of its short length. No longer having to devote an hour to a vs match or an hour and a half for expert campaign makes it so much more convenient for me.

The realism versus mutation is great. I highly enough it over the standard versus. Makes teams work together much more. You find alot less guys just running off alone.

Jockey grabs are lethal now. Catch a straggler and quickly get out of vision of the other 3 and you pretty much guaranteed to get a kill. The chance of them back tracking far enough to locate him is very slim.

Only draw back I see with this mutation system is me wanting to play these modes when ever I want. Rather than having to wait for it to be cycled. I am already dreading Realism versus being taken away from me.

Hey folks. I am new to the LFD series, but my GF loves this game and we play the demo like crazy. What would be a better purchase.. LFD2 or 1? I just want a nice used copy that we can throw in and slowly beat together whenever she is over.

                What is the mutation system?

I was wanting to play L4D2 the other night. I regret trading it in, I could probably get it for like $20 though.

It's 35 at Gamestop used. Im going for LFD2. Clearly the better game right now of the two options after reading more.

well, if you're talking about the 360 versions, I would lean towards LFD2. More people play that than the original right now, and it's a better game. Better level variety, melee weapons, more items. If you're talking PC, I imagine the crowd is close to equal as far as online goes so then it's just personal preference.

Rumors started by the same dude about Mass Effect 2 showing up on PS3 has started another rumor on GAF that L4D2 is PS3 bound which was one of the titles Geoff Knightley saw running behind doors. Should be interesting if it finally does come to the PS3.

L4D2 is a great multiplayer game though and PS3 networks still pretty bad for that. I suppose if all you have is a PS3 and had no choice it'd be possibly worthwhile though...

I completely disagree with this. Playing Battlefield, MW2, and Uncharted online, I've never had a single experience that was less than what I used to get on 360. The only difference I've ever seen is the lack of chat support on PSN.

IMO, the differences in actual online playing experience is WAY overstated.

Valve's last effort that went to both 360 and PS3, The Orange Box, was fine on the 360 but an absolute disaster on PS3. The lag was so bad at all times online that it was literally unplayable.
