The art, music and overall design of this game are amazing. I'm trying to wrap up pages before NYCC, so I've had to restrain myself, but come Monday evening I'm diving in for real. Just up to the Ice Golem right now. This is a slightly better version of what I'd hoped it would be, so I'm very happy. The whole art studio is blown away by it.

That's exactly where I am too. I went back to complete most of the challenges before it.

I can believe the reaction of your art studio. Didn't think I would be wowed by graphics this generation again, but consider me wowed. It looks and plays so good, that it tore me away from 2K11 for most of the evening.

Man I was going to pick this up as part of the Toys R Us deal on Sunday, but I am picking this bad boy up on Friday. After getting 2k, this is the only game I want right now.

Played this for the first time last night after finishing off Enslaved. Only a couple of hours in, but I'm baffled at how GameSpot managed to give this game a 7.5 and Enslaved an 8.5. Thus far Castlevania easily has the upper-hand.

Gamespot is pathetic. They gave 2K11 an 8.0, and said it wasn't really fun replaying Jordan's classic games. Okaaaaaay.

I really don't know what people expected the Castlevania series to do for this generation of consoles. Did they want a 2D side scroller? This game is the logical step for the franchise, and Konami hit it out of the park. It is a masterpiece. I am in Chapter two and I am loving the challenge. And to think that their are 12 chapters. This will keep me busy for a long time.

The game is beautiful. It has some of the best graphics I have seen in a game. Someone said earlier in a post it looks like a tapestry/painting, and they are right. It's gorgeous. Gameplay is solid in God of War'ish style, and the storytelling is good, though it seems they could have used Patrick Stewart better. Would have been really nice to have Stewart narrate over that wondrous landscape in preparation of each section. The booking reading Stewart performs is, well, odd.

I agree with this. I like the story he is telling in these readings, but I couldn't help thinking how cool it would have been to have something going on during these readings. The complete lack of music or anything to look at is, like you said, slightly odd.

Yet again I've gone from -I'll just rent this- to buying a special edition.

Haven't actually played any of it yet. Just wanted to comment that the packaging is very nice. The art book acts as the box. Not in the same way as Alan Wake. The discs are actually in the back of the book. The cover you see under the wrapping is actually the cover of the book and not a box.

Only played it a bit but loving it so far.

                    Review fail alert!
IGN gave this a 8.5 in graphics and a 9.5 for that ugly *** Halo Reach? I know they're 2 different reviewers but this is easily the best looking game I've seen from a technical standpoint. Not bad in the art department either. Ridiculous. No doubt a 10 in graphics. I haven't had any FPS problems/drops either. Unless they're refering to the slo-mo when you're hitting things but I thought that was for style purposes.

I'll have to give this game a shot. I also thought Halo was a pretty ugly looking game. I was expecting something up to Mass Effect type of graphics.

Yah, Halo: Reach isn't even the best looking FPS I've played (not even close actually), let alone one of the best looking GAMES. Uncharted 2 is still my number one, followed by Killzone 2, then GoW, but this game is right up there, especially when you consider they've packed in 20 hrs of gameplay.

Unchartered was definitely good, but Castlevania wins in the attention to detail on their environments. They are the most complete environments I have see in a game on the 360. I honestly don't know how they managed to get such high quality graphics in there. Maybe that's why it takes 2 discs?

^ Yeah, the attention to detail is mindblowing. Uncharted, God of War III, and Castlevania in no particular order. They are all right there at the top. 1A, 1B, 1C.

Final Fantasy XIII has some pretty sick graphics as well.

Yah... I disagree, lol. But either way, we agree on one thing, this game looks fantastic.
