    re: Rock Band 3

They need to come out with RB3 because GH has introduced a couple of good features that it needs to incorporate.

    1. Ability to Skip a song during a Quickplay setlist.
    2. Keep track of Hiscores for each difficulty level.
    3. Easier to drop in and out and change difficulty on the fly.
    4. During cymbal sustains don't have a note for every hit but a long meter where I just have to hit the cymbal realistically.

    Other wish's
    1. A mode where there are no fills in the drums, I just want to play the whole song through.
    2. Display my previous score while playing or at least after so that I know that I've beaten
    it.

I heard a rumor that RB3 will teach you how to play real instruments I hope this is true it would take the franchise and our medium to another level.

I agree shon, gh does have some nice features that I wish were in rb to go along with the rb songs. I also like how gh let's you use your own rockers in quick play and how you play the same instruments.

As much as I like this, I just wonder what this means for all of my downloaded songs and such. Will they have to re-chart them, or what does this mean?

It'll just be like expert + in GH I would guess. I don't think the new controllers are coming as soon as RB 3 though. It sounded a bit more far away than that.

Yeah, but unfortunately that still kind of sucks that you'll then have songs that don't have that option, you know? Unless they go back and add an Expert + to each song.

I purchased a Roland electronic drum set to learn to play drums from RB2 and it works well with some exceptions.

                1. Since the game rates your performance for failing on the bass and snare(red) notes when you play a song that has a lot of Hi-hat(yellow) it will switch to the snare(red) which does make those songs pretty hard to play.

                2. When you are playing the hi-hat(yellow) to the beat and it throws you a blue note you are really playing the hi-hat open instead of closed, since there is no hi-hat on the drums they will have to add that to make it more realistic. I am able to map my drums so that I can play it this way but it is difficult.

                3. RB does have it right by having 3 toms instead of GH only 2 which limits a lot of the drum rolls. I have bought most of the GH games but prefer the RB games because you can tell it's made by musicians and just feels right.

It's Hendrix and Whitesnake so far. (As posted in the other topics, just trying to nudge this one up so it's not so hard to find as more new info should be showing up.)
Could probably add-in Greenday and AC/DC with their exclusiveness.
Toss in a beloved Beatles song they didn't put in that game.

                  That'd be a nice start.
Maybe there won't be any of those awful "bonus" bands this time either and they'll be put on RBN instead.

I was reading today that RBN has been pretty decent so far for those that have had access. I wonder if it will be an evolution for the genre or turn to a devolution.

It was my understanding the current RBN tracks don't have to be lisenced so I'd say it's still up in the air a bit but at least there's some bigger bands on board.

There is Rock Band: Green Day coming out.

Can't wait for that one, as I'm a HUGE Green Day fan.

Crap, I'm not ready for a new Rock Band yet.

They still haven't said anything about BC with my 450 other RB songs. Let's hope it's possible.

Logically the backlash that would result from current songs not working, well it'd be worse than Visions and GG&HT combined. That'd be 10 incompatible discs even without counting DLC.

I think the DLC we purchased will work, but I worry that the RB2 disc based songs if they can't get all of them licensed we will lose some songs.
