          that's unreal...

I'm interested, and know nothing about how to play a real guitar.

I guarantee you that people who begin playing with Rock Band are going to complain that the guitar is giving them blisters.

Newsflash to you all: that's the first month of pain you must endure before getting finger callous.

As for Pro mode, I wonder if acoustic songs that use six-string major chords will be incorporated in here. So far all of the chords we've seen are represented as power chords, which makes sense since we've only seen songs that utilize that. But what about other songs? Hmm...

On top of that, I'm curious as to how they handle songs which use different tunings (i.e. standard tuning but a semitone down).

Still incredibly hyped for this, though.

I'm sure they will have 6-string chords in the game.

I was wondering the same thing. Drop D tuning makes those power chords a little different as well, as you just use one finger on E-A-D to barre instead of any other fingers. That will be important for Higher.

Oh I wasn't indicating that they won't be, but I was just wondering how it is they will differentiate the chord names for you in case you watch the side of the screen more often than the tabs themselves.

I dunno about that. I thought something like only 10% play on expert. The other 90% isn't going to shell out $150 or more for pro mode when they can barely do medium.

Yeah, I believe the guitar hero game will still sell, but for us hardcore music game guys, I don't see any scenario where one of us would be playing Guitar Hero when this comes out.

I cares! It's ok-ish when it's DLC but I'm not in favor of having them on disc.
                        That goes for both games.

RB is 8/23 so far (I think) with 60 songs left and GH is currently at 9/41 with 52 songs left.
I believe The Eagles are still GH exclusive and MJ is now Ubisoft exclusive. Tool probably still wants their own venue.

So your saying you wouldn't want Hotel California on the RB3 disc?

I do agree in general, but there could be exceptions, like say a song like Hotel California.

                            Nope.
It'd be nice as DLC,especially any of the great live versions to make things different at least but if The Eagles can even be in RB I'd want something that begins with the words Take It...(to the Limit or Easy). Though at least with Hotel California it didn't transfer over to the other GH games and isn't a repeat of a repeat that's already repeating itself.

Anyway here's the nearly 30 minute presentation from E3:

                            <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UzUFjH1_AOU&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&co lor2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UzUFjH1_AOU&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&co lor2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I'm all over this. I'll get the disc, the Squire and the interface, and do the real guitar and keyboard Pro stuff. This'll be a nice tool to help me learn a lot of popular songs I'm too cheap to buy the sheet music for. I'm not a huge fan of crouching over my laptop and reading tabs, but in a game context, I can kill two birds with one stone. So this is an automatic purchase. Bringing in the real guitar reinvests me, since I put the guitar down pretty much after Guitar Hero 2, only playing it to unlock songs other people couldn't play.
