    Re: Whats in your backlog?

Games I have started but have yet to finish:

    Alan Wake
    The Saboteur
    Sleeping Dogs
    Far Cry 3 (currently playing)
Battlefield 3 (only playing MP which I've already gotten my money's worth)
    Force Unleashed 2
    Gears of War 1-3
    MK9
    Skyrim
    Skate 2

All have been played, but just not finished. I am disappoint.

And there's a bunch of games I want to re-buy to play again. Blah.

      B2G1 sales etc...
Makes perfect since for those that don't need a game right at release.
Also when there's used game sales of B2G1

Dark Souls, Farcry3, LA Noire, Dead Space 3, Saints Row 3, Uncharted 3, Fallout Vegas(?), Mafia 2, Gravity Rush, MG:Rising, Mark of the Ninja, I am Alive... Just off the top of my head. I started all these and am anywhere between 50-75% complete. I just buy a ton of games and never return them.

          WWE 13 (Attitude Era) (360)
Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition (360)

          Games I own but haven't opened/played yet:

Sports Games in my current rotation:
          MLB 13 The Show (PS3/Vita)
MLB 12 The Show (PS3/Vita) (have 30 games left in my season of playing all 162)
          NHL 13 (360/PS3)
          NBA 2K13 (360)
          NBA 2K12 (360)
          NBA 2K11 (360)

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (Vita)
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds (PS3)
          Madden 13 (Vita)

Of course I wind up playing MLB The Show and NBA 2K about 90% of the time, so sometimes I wonder what is the point of having all the other games.
          Currently Playing:
          MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

You're right, it makes no sense. I don't think anyone intentionally tries to have a backlog, it just sort of....happens. You're playing a game, then you end up buying books or something else on Amazon or a gift for someone, you see something on sale for cheap and you figure you want to pick it up at some point anyway (so why not now, since if you add it to your order you get free shipping?), so you end up getting it, then you get busy and didn't finish the game you were originally playing but wanted the check out the first 20-30 minutes of the new one, etc....repeat a few times over the years, and voila: a backlog.

                Re: Whats in your backlog?

My reason for some of my backlog is lack of interest in games as I get older.

I still enjoy games, but very few just really draw me in.

Some games I've purchased and beat within a day or two (Max Payne 3, Mass Effect 3, etc.) and then some games start feeling like more of an actual task than enjoyment part of the way through and I decide to pick something else up for cheap instead of finishing it at the time.

Then work, social life, etc. catches up to me and I don't play anything for a few weeks except for a few hours of Battlefield at night.

It's really easy to get a backlog of games, even if you aren't spending much money. I've purchased maybe two games new in the past calendar year and everything else is on sale, used, etc.

I've also done the free shipping deal on Amazon, especially if I finda game for a few dollars thats older and the cost of that game would be somewhere around the cost of the shipping on the item I'm buying.

Most backlogs don't form intentionally, so it makes plenty of sense to me how it can happen.
