    Microsoft released a collection of tables for the PC what seems like 10 years ago that included Haunted House. I believe it was called Microsoft Pinball Arcade. I have a copy of it around somewhere - I have to look. It was nice.

      I cracked the top 50 on MM 2 days ago! I didn't think it was possible but I beat royal madness and all the kings men. So virtually I "beat the game" and landed 47th spot on the leaderboards.

      My score was over 172 million! very far from the over 800million #1, but only the top 8 or so are over 300 million.

      It's funny what people are good at...for instance my best on pinbot is only 3.~ million and I'm about 110th, but space shuttle my score is 6.5 million (which I think is a great score) and I'm in the 300s.

        I finally went and got this game today. I had to go to 2 Gamestops to get it because it wasn't in stock. My guess is they probably get one or two in and they aren't in any hurry to restock when they sell them.

        Anyhow, I've pretty much been at it for 3 hours straight now. It's addicting as you have all advertised. It's also a total nostalgia trip. I lived across the street from a shopping mall that had an arcade and even though I didn't play much pinball back then I still remember some of these machines. I'm sure I played Black Knight and Sorcerer at some point back then. And I actually remember when the Space Shuttle game came out. People would flock around it because it had that actual space shuttle model in it. And how cool is it that you can call an attendant if your ball gets stuck? The first time it happened I thought my Xbox froze. Too funny.

        I'm no pinball wizard, and I don't know how some of you can understand everything that is going on with some of the more advanced tables. Some of the tables with 80+ pages of instructions are insane. I pretty much suck at aiming the ball and don't really know the pinball tricks, but I noticed myself improving a bit over the course of my play time. I actually got 68 million on No Good Gophers, which probably isn't much for the experts, but it was certainly the best game I had tonight.

        Speaking of pinball tricks, I wish I could read those tips they flash up during the load screens. Seriously, those screens are up there for 2 seconds..just long enough to pique my interest in what they have to tell me. How is anybody supposed to read these? Is this info anywhere else in the game?

        Overall though, a very fun game..well worth the bargain price. I can't wait until tomorrow when I can get some beers and throw on some good 80s music instead of the crap on the disc and really have a nice flashback party. The girlfriend will surely love this game too. I've just gotta figure out what's going on with the real busy tables. I'm kinda just winging it right now.

          that's better than the gamespot editor who was #1 when the game was new with over 500.

          What's your high score on MM, funhouse and Space Shuttle?
          MM= 246 million
          FH = 63.2million
          SS = 14.3million

            If your having trouble just ask I know how most of the tables work as do some of the people in this post.

              Thanks. I'm starting to get the tables a bit now. I still can't totally keep up with everything I'm supposed to be doing. Things just happen too fast.

              That said, this game is pure crack. I always think I'm going to be playing my last game, then I look up and an hour has passed.

              The one table that really is causing me to nearly throw my controller is Pin Bot. Maybe it's just a run of bad luck, but this table seems to be very unforgiving. I lose way more balls down the left and right outlanes on this table than any other in the collection. And it doesn't give you a break either. There have been a couple of times when I've started the ball from the plunger and it clanged around the bumpers for a little bit before making its way down and bouncing off the slingshot thingies right above the flippers and then straight down one of the outlanes without me ever hitting it with the flippers. A lot of tables will give you a save in that instance, but not Pin Bot. Seriously, that table is pissing me off.

                The outlanes on that table are unforgiving. On actual tables there's usually 2 or 3 holes for the small metal posts with rubber on them to make the outlanes less or more forgiving. It would be nice if they gave us the option of making the outlanes more or less forgiving. Pinbot is a tough table, it seems tougher on the game than it is in real life, it's a drain monster on the disc.

                  Yeah..it sure is. Ijust had it happen again. When I launch the ball from the plunger and it ends up in the outlanes without me ever touching the ball with the flippers it is very infuriating. I haven't done the Williams Challenge yet, and I don't know where in the sequence of tables Pin Bot comes into play..but I can definitely see this table being my downfall.

                    For some of you guys getting high scores on MM. What is your strategy? Do you go straight for the castle points at the begining to get the free ball after the second one destroyed or do you try to light up the Damsel, troll, peasant, etc. madness lights to begin.
                    Thanks..need some tips.

                      I have by no means an extremely high score on that table, but I find my best success in hitting the Peasant and Dragon ramps, and the Joust orbit before doing anything else. They're all relatively safe shots that won't often result in a drain if you miss. And then as you said, you can go into the Madness modes after completing them. Shooting at the castle first is dangerous IMO, because the ball is going to bounce off the drawbridge or gates, back toward that gaping hole between the flippers (larger than most Williams tables).

                        Thanks for the tips! I ended up scoring 120 million and change after playing this table awhile. Thought for sure that would get me in the top 100 but was stuck around 124th I think. Game is very addicting..has that just one more time feel to it. I got some kind of mini game on MM table while I got that score. Something about saving children from birds that wanted to eat them. Had no clue how to play this...anyone seen this game on the MM table and know how to play this.

                          I remember reading/hearing something in the instructions link for the table, if you've ever checked those out. I can't remember what was said. I suck at that table. The one I've become pretty good at is the Arabian Nights one. Pretty busy table but I'm able to do a lot on that one.

                            I've played this mini game a bunch of times yet to complete it yet use the left and right flippers to stab the falcons when they try to take the children.

                              282+ Million in MM just now...good for #36 of the Xbox leaderboards!

                              Some disappointing things:

                              I'm sure I got two extra balls, one for the 2nd castle, and one for completing Royal Madness, but I was only awarded one.

                              I almost completed Battle for the Kingdom on my last ball. I only had to hit the castle, but those damn trolls popped up and down the drain it went. So....friggin...close.

                                Anybody have any tips for nudging the table to save balls from going into the far outlanes? I'm finally getting pretty good at judging when the ball looks to be going right down the middle and making the save. I now understand that I have to nudge the table in the opposite direction that I want the ball to go. I just haven't been successful doing this when the ball is teetering between either the right or left outlane and the safe drop to the flippers. It seems no matter how I nudge the table I lose the ball more often than not when it is teetering on the edge in those positions.
