MM is by far my fav machine so far...with ToTAN a close second.

Like you said, this game SCREAMS for DLC. Attack From Mars, Twilight Zone, Adams Family, etc (and I loved Whitewater too, that was a great machine!).
With MM, it seems like when I'm trying to save a ball down the middle with the double flip it will sometime morph through the tip of the flipper and drain.

You named another bunch of awesome Bally/Williams machines there, also Shadow, Tesla on Zen Pinball uses a lot of the unique features only found in The Shadow.

I'm up to 12th on the Williams Challenge, all the machines are fun, this disc will get a lot of play!

I am #9 on No Good Gophers for the PS3! 42,122,160. I'm sure I will be out of the top 100, by the time the weekend is over though.

Haven't really noticed the miss like you say...but then if I know it's going down the middle, I'll usually use the nudge instead. Getting adept at the nudge is important for saving the drain in this game...maybe overdone as well, I never was able to really use that to good effect on real machines (but I'm a small guy, no muscle)

As people play the game...make sure you all give Space Shuttle a try. I've been focusing on the later games (MM, ToTAN, NGG), but Space Shuttle is a lot of fun, has a good clean playfield and is pretty friendly as far as keeping the ball in play. My favorite 80's machine so far (but then I've not played Pinbot or Black Knight much...both of which stole a lot of quarters from me in my youth)

A great feature in this game is the detailed instructions about the rules of the games. Pinball is a lot deeper than you think. You need to know how to score in these games and what shots to hit and when.

Also, you need to understand "Stacking" in pinball, in the modern machines you can "stack" different modes. Like in Medieval Madness you get a bunch of modes going before multiball, then every shot you hit is scoring big points on every mode you have going at that time.

Read the instructions for each game before you play and you'll have even more fun on them. Anyone get some hole in ones on No Good Gophers?

Yeah, I discovered that feature last night. Totally agree on Pinball being deeper than people think. Real Pinball is truly the king of gameplay. Precision, speed, hand-eye coordination, focus, it really is a sport despite what people think. I love when you get in a zone. I was in one last night on the Sorcerer table. I think I played about an hour or so on one ball. I netted a top 10 score too. This game is addicting as hell.

Yeah, I have had several aces on NGG. Not that I was trying though some of them were totally random. But, I will take it.

Pinball is all skill, some people think it's luck or random or just beating around the ball. At pinball tournaments the same guys come out on top all the time, if it was luck it wouldn't happen that way.

I can believe it. I have never been to a tournament, but I can see how that would be the case. What table do you have again?

I don't have any tables right now, I might start collecting again at my next house, if Crave keeps giving us good pinball games I may just be satisfied with video versions, the real ones are a lot of work and money to maintain.

I had No Good Gophers, Judge Dredd, Demolition Man, Roadshow, Theatre of Magic, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Shadow, Star Trek The Next Generation and Terminator 2 at various times. I also had a lot of different EM's (Electro Mechanical) from the 60's and 70's by Gottlieb.

                    what's up everyone.

I have completed the challenge a few times. I can't believe how much I have been playing this game. I love it and was never really into playing pinball at any point in my life. I'd love to play some of the table I like after playing the game though.

I really like M-madness, space shuttle, pinbot, and fun house

Those ones to me are the most goal orientated, or they jive with me the best in some way or another.

I really don't like No Good Gofers though actually, and I'm not totally in love with arabian nights either. To me they don't contain enough metal (they seem like cheap plastic toys compared to the other ones which to me show great mechanical engineering) lol... they are also visually more distracting and confusing. I like the tables where it's clear where the ball is and where you want it to go. I still like arabian nights though, but it doesn't beat much older tables.

ps. on m-madness I had a crazy 5-way multiball madness! If I can remember the guy shouted: joust, catapult, peasant, ...damn i can't remember right now, I'll have to try it again. I know all the 'extra' areas and where they are ...anyway maybe jet would know best - was 5 that the max multiball? it was insane when it happened and I was getting millions of points in seconds during it. I can't imagine there being more it was crazy!

I hope they continue to support the game w/ dlc and that the leaderboards aren't ruined by glitching.

edit; forgot to add one thing...it's a bit of a shame that you can't modify the leaderboards to show you and your friends scores only...that's become pretty much essential in today's games.

What happened is what I mentioned before is that you "stacked" the modes before you started multiball. Instead of just having one mode active like peasant, catapult, etc. you had a bunch of them so every time you hit a ramp or a shot you weren't just collecting Jackpots or Super Jackpots you were also collecting and multiplying your peasant bonus, etc. When there's 5 balls going and you've got all the modes active every ramp, etc. is big points.

The real good players will avoid starting the multi-ball until they have the modes "stacked".

Read the instructions for No Good Gophers, it's a great game, made by Pat Lawlor who made Twilight Zone, Funhouse, etc. Gophers, you need to know what and where to hit, you have to make your shots and then "putt out" to finish holes. When you finish 9 holes you'll get a crazy multi-ball mode.

If you're ever going to get to the "Wizard Modes" in these machines you need to read the instructions and finish all the goals to then get the Wizard Mode and huge points.

It seems like NGG and Tales of the Arabian Nights are a little lower resolution than the other tables. It kind of reminds me of NBA 2K9's midcourt floor logos.

I may have to do the same. None of the stores in my area have it either. Walmart, Gamestop, Target, etc.. Online only.

I think you're right. I also think on the 3 90's tables (NGG,MM,TOTAN) that when the ball gets going fast the reaction time of the flippers has a problem, it seems like the ball is not making an accurate reaction to the tips of the flippers. It seems sometimes that the ball is morphing through the tip of the flipper and draining instead of bouncing off the flipper. No such problems on the other tables.
