I just ordered Soul Silver from Amazon. Honestly, I didn't even know they remade Silver/Gold. I'm pretty pumped, Gold was the first video game I played and beat (got it and a Game Boy Color for Christmas as a kid) and I absolutely loved playing it. Ended up picking Silver this time because I'd rather have Lugia. I am having a tough time deciding which starter I should use though.

Re: The Pokemon Thread
I caught a shiny Psyduck in Pokemon Gold, you could barely tell because graphics were terrible. It was cool, my first shiny. Later, I hatched a shiny Chimchar in Pearl.
I'm not planning on getting it, but IGN scored it 9/10 fwiw. http://www.ign.com/games/pokemon-conquest/nds-125156
Got bored earlier in the day, so I made an UU team (didn't feel like playing OU and I love playing against different pokes) and start laddering. Laddered for about a hour while watching the Euros and was pleasantly surprised at the success of the team.Comment

I got it and of your a fan of Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics you need to go out and buy it now.
It's really deep to, basically you are a warlord with Eevee and have this side kick with Jiggly Puff. There are "turns" that take a month at a time after your finished either attacking, training or battling others and wild Pokemon.
There's also a link system for trainer and Pokemon. Let's say you have another warrior join you that has Charmander, however he is only a 45% link with him. That means that the highest he can level is 45% then it won't go any higher. This is where you come in, you take him into battle and try to find his match with a wild Pokemon. There's 5 classifications of links that are represented as medals:
No Medal: Usually means the trainer and pokemon are not compatible at all together and usually max percentage is like 25-30%.
Bronze: Slight compatabillity with each other. Usually 40ish%
Silver: Medium compatabillity. 70ish%
Gold: High compatabillity. 80-90%.
Gold perfect link: This is where it gets interesting. When you battling a wild Pokemon and the warriors medal is gold, you link with it. There's a chance that it will be a perfect link with him. What that means is you can go up to the Maximum 100% link between the 2. The reason you will want this to happen is not only will the Pokemon have the best chance to get stronger but once you get 100% you don't stop. Your attacks you use on the battlefield start to increase and make that Pokemon more efficient with higher accuracy and damage.
Pokemon can evolve, it's all based off the link and experience of battle and doing stuff like mining, etc. There's also stones (fire, thunder, water, etc....) you can purchase to help evolve as well.
Not only that there's also Warrior Evolutions. The people them selfs can also "evolve" and increase the strength and abilities of yourself. You have abilities to use to help whether it's to increase the accuracy and move spaces to healing and increasing defense. They all come into play.
I hope this helps give you a little more info and to let you know I'm enjoying it very much.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Only shiny I ever found was a Zubat in the wild.
I ended up breeding shiny starters later on. If I can find my platinum and stuff I can trade a bunch of egg move starters. Every generation. I also have a lot of legendaries/rares.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: The Pokemon Thread
Thanks for the rundown on Conquest Candyman - and yeah definitely sounds like a game I'd have interest in. However I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick it up (at least right away) don't know if I'll have the time to devote to that kind of game.Minnesota Vikings

Re: The Pokemon Thread
Was it this game?

If it is, I loved that game. Excellent Strategy-RPG for a portable system. I have atleast over 100 hours in my file. I actually beat the main game, but I can't recruit all the secret characters because my whole Guild is full, and there's no one I want to kick out because they are all trained up, skilled, and have good gear lol.

You recommend that game? I can get it for about $17 counting tax on amazon. Seems like a good deal. I loved Tactics Advanced on the GBA.Was it this game?

Re: The Pokemon Thread
1. If you loved the Original Tactics on GBA... definitely check out A2: Grimoire of the Rift, especially if you can get it on a deal. They really fine tuned details for the DS version, really nice graphical updates. The much hated Judge system has been greatly revised and you are no longer punished severely for breaking laws, however you do get bonuses for following laws, also some new classes, and a new Crafting, and Auction system that allows you to get some pretty powerful gear if you follow it closely and get the right mats/ win the right auctions.
2. As far as your team you can probably switch Blitzle out for Joltik/Galvantula once you get to charge stone cave. I did, just know that you also are getting a Part Bug combo. Helpful for me for also dealing with Dark, and Psychics.
As far as Flying Pokemon go you are kind of out luck Black/White really lacks with flying Pokemon. Outside of the Pidove/Tranquill/Unfezant tree not many usable flyers a long the way. A few part Psychic types like Sigilyph, Swoobat but really you have to wait until much later in the game to get some good Flyers.Last edited by Feared; 06-25-2012, 08:41 PM.Minnesota Vikings

Re: The Pokemon Thread
I just got a Krokoak, that took the place of Blitzle, I think that is the name, for a ground type. Still thinking about it. I need something to learn fly, I am hoping that rock/flying type can learn it. I have a pidove in the PC if I have to use it.1.
