Re: Enslaved (Ninja Theory) PS3/360
Picked up my copy today at Kmart. Make sure you get the 2nd receipt that prints out. Dude @ my Kmart tried to play dumb and not give it me, I'd guess he's been doing this to others and using their coupons to fund his games. Not cool.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: Enslaved (Ninja Theory) PS3/360
Really enjoying this despite some rough edges with the camera being to close at times and sudden changes in angles, controls a little to loose, and some tech issues.
Gameplay mechanics are pretty simple, but there's a bit more depth to the combat with the upgrades and commands than I was expecting. A lot of things are very reminiscent of Uncharted, Ico, and Beyond Good and Evil.
Story, setting, and character performances are as good as advertised. There's not a lot of exposition and the biggest difference between the performances in this and other games isn't so much the facial animations, but the eyes. Even when Monkey and Trip are talking to each other, but you only get a close up of one of them, you can still tell their making eye contact.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Agree with Flawless that controls are a little loose at times, thankfully the game is extremely rigid with regards to falling off ledges / etc (meaning it's pretty much impossible per all my gameplay experiences, even on Hard difficulty). Loose controls will force you to navigate mine fields a little bit slower than you would otherwise however.
The story is good, not great, as there are many things that are unfolding thus far that just don't fit well with the story progression. The voice over work is good. The direction is good, but again, not great. For the reviewers that compared this to Unchartered, it makes me wonder if they honestly played Unchartered. Is it reminiscent of it, perhaps. Does it live up to the quality. No. Not even close.
One last thing. Huge demerit for extremely long load times where you are forced to sit and what a circling icon. Ughhh, throw up a picture, some music, anything for us other than a black screen and 'Loading...'. This is where it greatly departs from Unchartered, which provided a seamless gameplay experience.
Based on the pacing of the game, I'd give it roughly 10 to 15 hours of gameplay, with 15 really pushing it. Just a heads up for those on the edge of purchasing and amount of gameplay factors into your buying decision.
Right now, 5 chapters in, I'd say the game is good, but there have been no 'oh wow' moments for me. I'll continue to update as I play through. Verdict at 5 Chapters In - Strong Rent (no Buy)Comment

Ahhh, didn't realize you were on PS3. Does it do any type of install for the game prior to playing? I haven't timed it, but I would guess the load times are 1 to 2 minutes on the 36, which feels like a long time when you're just staring at a black screen.. I'll try to remember to start a stop watch next time to see how long it's taking.Comment
