I saw a vid on this a while back; thought it looked cool enough for a rental. No way I'm spending 60 bucks on it though.

I don't understand the 3 character issue with OS search, I wish it allowed for 3 letter words.

LOL, yeah, I think there's a thread already, but God only knows where it's at.

The storyline for this game actually sounds cool, you play Trapp somewhere after Saw 1 but before Saw 3, but not exactly Saw 2. LOL

Just figuring this out from the achievements, which also seem pretty cool.

Early impressions have been favorable. It's on my holiday wish list to the family, so we'll see if I get it, but since they know I'm a horror nut, it's probably high on lists

Looked like a second rate Silent Hill from the vids. As I'm sure I said in the other topic it would've been good to play as Jigsaw/the puppet and make the traps/lure people into them.

I saw some footage of this on Justin.TV and it appeared to have a "throw your controller through the TV" frustration level.

That could be good or bad. Mainly because if a lot of the old games I used to play back in my youth was out now some of these gamers would go balistic.
Back then there were no "strategy" (Cheat) guides etc. The good thing was you got your moneys worth.
Nowadays a game is played and usually with a guide and then posts start saying "I completed the game in 5 hours. Should have rented it!"
I like playing a game and figuring out everything on my own. Then after that I have no issues using a guide to figure out the hidden items etc...

So if SAW is frustrating because of controls or glitches or just a bad game then that would suck. If it's because you can't zoom through the game and answers aren't hand fed then I'm all for it.

It looked frustrating because of a tedious puzzle mini-game that would pop up every couple of minutes.

It would have taken a lot more polish and time to put Saw up there with the kings of the survival horror genre. But the developers are definitely onto something, and I'd like to see the Saw games improve over time. For now, some of the puzzles repeat a few times too many while the plot points and big scares at times run thin. The game would have been much more exciting had there been a tad more variety, or less filler. Overall, Saw is a welcome entry in the horror genre that provides a good dosage of thrills. Depending on your tolerance for repetition, it's a good way to test your nerves and scare yourself silly during a dark and stormy night.

                          8.0 Presentation
Kudos to the developers for capturing the essence of a Saw movie. It isn't perfect, but it's worth any horror fan's attention.
                          7.5 Graphics
The visuals get repetitive but they're good enough to inspire freak-outs and gross-outs.
                          8.0 Sound
The music sets a stark mood, ranging from bleak to frantic. The sound effects can be disgusting, in a good way.
                          7.0 Gameplay
Solid puzzles that repeat a bit too often. The combat isn't horrible but it could use refinement
                          7.0 Lasting Appeal
The initial experience is meaty but there's very little reason to play the game twice especially since you can continue earlier saves to see the multiple endings.
