Halo 1 for me. I will never be into Halo as much as I was when this game came out. Massive lan parties at friends houses is what made this game so fun for me. I just couldnt get into Halo 2 at all. Halo 3 was meh...online was fun but only for a while. I think I would enjoy it more if I had more people to play it with.

I haven't played ODST yet, but I think this is how I'd rank them as well...Halo 1 was a classic, 2 was good, 3 was pretty disappointing (for me, I know I'm in the minority).

The original Halo was an experience that will not be matched. It was magic in a bottle and they've never tapped back into it. The sequels have been nothing but disappointing. The original Halo was just the right game at the right time.

I played the orginal Halo multiple times - solo and co-op. Then, we used to hook up multiple Xboxes and play 4-on-4 capture the flag on Blood Gulch. Those were some of the best times I've had with a game and the sequels never even came close to matching that.

Halo 1 Was revolutionary for Consoles. Never before was a FPS so fluid and accurate on a controller. Halo 1 really can be looked as a dagger to the PC, once people found out that you do not need to own a PC to play a Kick A** FPS, it really was down hill for the PC post Halo.

Halo is one of those games that really sets the Bar a notch higher for the Genre. GTA Created the Bar for Open World Games, and has continued to set the mark. MLB The Show For Sports, Any Bethesda RPG for RPGS, World Of WarCraft For MMORPGS. I could name a few other games that totally flipped the Genre on its head, but the Point being is that Halo is one of them, perhaps even the Biggest Genre defining game.

Halo 2,3,ODST, and Halo Wars will just Continue to be Hype Machines. Halo as a franchise will always be strong, But I do not see another Halo game that will make us feel the same way as when we Played Halo for the First time.

Halo one is probably my favorite console FPS ever.

While 2 and 3 were certainly good, without the Halo brand name they're just a few run of the mill console FPS. Personally I'm done with the series.

Halo 1 would actually cause my friends to bring over their TV's and xboxes to play multiplayer. We would have multiple TV and xboxes set up in different rooms with wires running all throughout my house.

What other game would make anyone do that?

Halo 1 FTW, Halo 2 was **** in a box and Halo 3 wasnt much beter. Halo 2 Multiplayer got to be a Glitch Fest and the only thing I can give to Halo 3 is fixing the Multiplayer, Forge and Custom Games.

If they ever, EVER remade Halo 1 for 360 with Live Multiplayer included I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I really do hope that Halo Reach does the whole Holy **** Factor that Halo 1 had.

I'm with everyone else. The first Halo got pretty much everything right, from the single player game to multiplayer. Its the only one that I've gone through the single player game multiple times. I just had to beat that game on Legendary. Then of course was multiplayer. I don't even want to know how much time I spent playing that game with friends. Even after Halo 2 came out we'd hook up the original to the LAN in the dorms and get huge games going. Just a classic game that none of the sequels have matched.
