PC was Doom and then later Diablo took it to new heights

Console was NCAA 2004, i played that to death

I'll be somewhat surprised if anyone knows about this one - Chain of Command back in the 2am days. The first online game I played for any decent length of time.

Infantry was a close second - I played so much GravBall in those days.

Duke Nukem 3D with two other friends on a LAN started me off. For the whole net thing though I didn't get big time into it until Half-Life (DM and TDM) and Team Fortress Classic.

A couple

War Craft and Command and Conquer for PC. Then Quake and Duke 3d. But I got to say one of the most played online games I ever played has to be Total Annihilation

Console it was all GOLDEN EYE. Even though it was not ONLINE, it was the first console multiplayer game to get me addicted to playing with people in the same game.

I had a computer programming class back in high school when Duke Nukem 3D came out. We all sat in the back row and installed the game on the computers. We'd help each other complete the assigned program as quickly as possible so we could play each other in that game. Good times...

I resisted and resisted and all it took was a free trial to get me hooked. I also think it was important that it was that game I had and got into - gears online didn't do it for me nearly as much and something besides both of those, it's possible I would have not realized what all the hype was about and quit bothering with online. Vegas 1 was awesome at the time for online, I used to own folks with my sniper! streets baby!

Halo 2. I'm not a big fan of the Halo series but the multiplayer in that game was great and it was the first time I had Live. I would play that game all day.
