Always dabbled a bit back in the day, played a lot of Diablo, Starcraft, Half-Life mods, etc. But when Diablo 2 dropped, my High School GPA took a SERIOUS hit, lol. I'm also planning on taking some time away from civilization again once Diablo 3 drops.

Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. Me and some friends were addicted as hell to this game back in junior high.

god i cant even remember to tell the truth, i know i got hooked to online gaming when i played on the pc. the earliest game i can remember getting hooked to was janes ww2 fighters, there might be a game before that, but that was back in 99, 2000 time frame.

PC: battlefield series (all of them), Day of Defeat, Diablo 2 and Starcraft....never got into MMO but I did try warhammer online played like 2 months till I got stuck at lvl 26...

Console: gotta be honest I despise using controllers for FPS games but that beta of bad company 2 has me addicted...I play rarely online with nba2k10 and madden10 if I were to play those games its uasually with a friend I know...

Nfl 2k1 for the dreamcast. Man i remember playing while having a friend on the keyboard taking ish all day long. I still remember an epic 2vs2 game against random guys that came down to the last second score for the win. Days when were just happy we could play online and didnt care the shoelace color was wrong like some seem to focus on.

And yet we STILL can't go 2v2 in Madden....... I swear this is the most obvious stuff, but it's left out simply so they have a new feature to give us in the next edition... But that's for another thread... When I first got XBox Live, I was an NBA Live 04 Junkie... Back in the days when that was the best NBA game on the market

PC: Quake. Playing the original on dial-up was seeing the future of gaming. This was even before they cleaned up the code with Quakeworld.

Sports: Front Page Football '98 - not only did I spend insane amounts of time playing online in leagues and random games, the array of tools we used to enhance the experience led to even more time. ICQ for drafts and trades.

Some guy came out with a program that use the logs of games as they were being played to give a gamecast view of the game, along with chatboxes for people that wanted to watch. Even better, a commish could lode logs into the program, and then run four games in separate windows, while everyone from the league chatted as they played out.

Dabbled a bit with Quake 2 and TFC when we first got a T1 line at the office. On dialup and early DSL it was Tribes. I played that game nightly for probably 2 solid years. Went thru bF1942, bf:Vietnam, and Battlefield 2 or a while then pretty much MMOs only after that. EQ, DAoC, EQ2, Star Wars Galaxies, WoW.

Never played anything online on a console at all till World at War. I even owned Gears and CoD4 but never played online.

My first game that got me hooked on online gaming was back in 1997 with Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2... played online over at MSN Gaming Zone and sometimes hosted matches while sharing my IP addresses.... There'd also be straight up lightsaber-only matches, which was pretty exciting.

Then Team Fortress Classic came around. I'd only play 2Fort on that one.

It was a combination of nfl 2k1 and nba 2k1 for the dreamcast.... it was a whole new world to me. Although I still played mostly association mode.

I remember Rainbow 6 for xbox was probably the first game that I played way more online then off.
