I beat that game as well, but damn was it hard. I hated that game because it got me into a lot of trouble for yelling at the game and then Mom or Dad would come in, turn off the game and send me outside.

If I had to guess, I'd say Contra. Following by Street Fighter II Alpha, and TMNT the Arcade Game.

But the games that I remember more vividly ... Tomb Raider, and Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation. Two games that opened my eyes to what I love about video games today, and the types of games that pull me away from Madden, the Show, and my sports allegiances.

There may have been earlier ones that I don't remember (well, my brother did beat some in the early-mid 80's), but I do remember sitting with my brother on February 1991 (I think it was the day of the NBA Allstar game), and beating Golden Axe on the computer. Good times...

I'm only 23, but I feel old when I see you guys answering with N64 / PSone games.... On that note, I'm pretty sure I have to say Super Mario Bros. on the NES, even though I probably have to credit my big brother for actually beating it... Then we moved on to the SNES, where Super Mario World became the first on that list. It was the only SNES game we had for a long time.

Probably Contra (never beat it without the code). I got an NES for my birthday in 1988 I think (came with Super Mario Bros.) and don't think I beat that game until my freshman year in college almost 10 years later.

Kung Fu for the NES. I remember that I got it along with the system. I played it all night and beat it in the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say, I was "sick" the next morning and had to miss school. I was so sad about it too.

Me too. I actually got my NES for christmas, so I did not have to worry about school. I hated the Rob the robot game though.

I'm sure I beat some games on the intellivision. I just can't remember. My parents only bought me and my brothers games for birthdays and Christmas, so I would play games for months at a time. Once I started buying my own games, my ability to finish games started to decrease.
