Beat the game today, and I loved the story. Just crazy stuff. I will play this game again, and on the harder level that was just unlocked and make different choices.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Spec Ops: The Line
Yeah, I mean the story was good. Perhaps I was a little harsh.
But gameplay itself does no where near enough to lift it into the upper echelons. For example, the sand dynamics are pushed really hard as being central to the game - yet rather than being something you can continually use, it is only restricted to Call of Duty-esque 'dramatic' moments that was pretty disappointing.
I'm not sure about what you mean about HL being 'thematically' weak - I mean, its going for a different effect than the sort of 'shock' factor with this game.
Even the 'choices' don't really impact the game to a large degree. Almost felt like Far Cry 2 in that regard.Comment

What I mean by thematically weak is that the story HL 1 and 2 doesn't really go deeper than what happens on the surface. It's not really about anything other than the adventures of Gordon Freeman. The surrounding characters (especially in 2) are fantastic, but the story as a whole isn't too far above your average summer blockbuster.Comment
