lol I hear you. On the harder levels it a tougher game for sure. Still manageable on the level above normal. You may come across certain points in the game where you are going to die alot, but again its manageable.

Now on the very last hard level. This game is no freaken joke. You will die alot from the start lol.

I'm determined to beat it at this level, but it's going take me some time for sure.

So I'm interviewing the lead writer of the game for my new podcast on Tuesday. Does anybody have any specific questions they'd like answers to?

Yes I have a few questions?

Looking at the field of shooters that are out now and in the past. What inspired you to go the route you did with the story line?

I know there is no need for a sequel with this game, but will you be working on another title, and will you incorporate another interesting story line as you did with spec ops?

What can we expect from the DLC being released come August? , and will it be something that will surpirse us in regards to the story line?

Do you feel any pressure going forward in making a game that it must posses a great story line after what was accomplished with spec ops?

Some have questioned the gun play in Spec Ops. Mainly that the guns felt rather the same. What are your thoughts on those comments, and would you be willing to correct this via a patch?

I have more but I dont want to get greedy

Oh I just realzied its the lead writer, not programmer. Oh well ask anyway just in case , or take the questions he can answer.

          Re: Spec Ops: The Line

I played half the game on hard and it was harder because the enemies hit for more damage and your health was lower. The enemy AI wasn't improved from what I could tell, unless you count them being able to time exactly when I was going to pop out of cover. Sometimes they would run right past me or other times they would just stand up and let me shoot them. It didn't happen all the time but it did happen enough to notice. I then played a couple of chapters on normal and the AI was the same, I could just take more damage.

I went in hoping for a great game and it's just ok and I'm fine with that. The story wasn't that gripping to me. This is a personal issue but I thought the there was too much cursing in the game and that distracts me from the story.

The cursing adds to the game for once. You barely hear through the first part of the game then there's a bunch of it the second half. It shows change in the characters. Particularly...

Yeah I don't think he'll be able to answer any stuff about what's going on with DLC or patches. He's not in Germany anymore. Pretty sure his work is done.

How much more stuff could be added to single player if they was no multiplayer in this game ?

Lets not get on here on try to steal anyones joy.

Im going to ask you a question and please be honest. What level did you play on? I know on normal the game is easy, but on the two harder levels the game is much harder, and presents a better challenge.

I played the game right from the start on the hard level, and it was a nice challenge. No aim assist and the A.I was more accurate, and smarter.

Now im on the harderst level the game offers, and this game is klling me. You feel you had a walk in the park then jump to that level, and I can guarantee you would not be making the same statement you made above. They nail you in a instant and the bullet damage is much greater. You must have great reflexes , and more patience. Trust me it is very challenging, and right from the start.

When you make a comment on the level. Make it on all the levels. Its the only fair thing to do.
I played it initially on medium and then changed difficulty to hard. But there is a difference between a game being challenging vs being stupidly difficult - and this game isn't trying to be a military shooter like ARMA. Dying instantly due to no action of your own doesn't make a challenging game - it just makes a stupidly difficult one, only encouraging you to hunker down for longer and pop out and shoot, degenerating gameplay.

A better way of implementing difficulty is by making enemies 'smarter' - making them use better tactics. Or do what crisis did (ingeniously) - and had the korean soldiers actually speak korean on harder difficulties so that you couldn't understand them! Not saying its entirely appropriate in this scenario, but there are better ways of approaching difficulty.

The unique mechanics in this game was the largely disappointing sand mechanic, and the two team-mates you had... but rather than focussing on these and make the game play unique, it becomes yet another, albeit poor, test of reflexes and "patience".

Please note - I am not trying to take away from your fun - but I was simply providing some of the reasons I thought the game left more to be desired.
It just seems horrendously naive to me to somehow overlook such faults.

Just got this game for 24.99 on Amazon and I am loving it. Looks amazing on PC if you can run on high and the story seems interesting. Well worth the purchase so far.

I've started a second playthrough and have stopped at 'the controversial section' I'm not sure I want to go on!

Perhaps it would have been a better design decision to give the player an illusion of choice here?

No, because it would have changed the story drastically.

Yeah but I mean illusion of choice. Give us a chance to try something else and fail before sending us into moral hell!

I do love this game though, the most thought provoking main stream game I have played since Far Cry 2.
