Vanquish Dev Blog
I would have loved to see this:
there was even an idea that a female android “partner” would transform and combine with Sam (I was a fan of that one). As the player would hoist her up, their bodies would change shape in various ways from forming an enormous gun to having the android change into a boomerang and be thrown into the field.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Vanquish demo set for September 2 on PSN and XBL
Vanquish producer Atsushi Inaba has said Platinum Games plans to release a demo for the game on Xbox Live and PSN September 2.
Speaking with Gamespot Japan during gamescom, Inaba said the demo will be titled Velocity Attack, and it contains a prologue sequence as well as a boss fight with Argos.
Players will be able to try it out in both casual and normal difficulty modes, as well as the auto aim feature.
Inaba also said the Vanquish demo shown at TGS next month will be different from the downloadable demo, as it will show additional playable areas and a stage with an appearance by a surprising character (Bayonetta maybe? – SN).
Vanquish is out on October 19 in the US and October 22 in the UK for PS3 and Xbox 360.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

U.S. demo coming August 31.
Joystiq
Sega has announced that a playable demo of its over-the-top Platinum Games and Shinji Mikami developed shooter Vanquish will arrive on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN Store on Tuesday, August 31. Europe will get the demo a day later on September 1, with Australian gamers getting their hands on it Thursday, September 2. Famitsu reports (via Siliconera) that Japan will also receive the demo on the 2nd.
The "Vanquish Official Demo: Velocity Attack," as Sega calls the demo, will comprise the section of the game we played at E3 -- a space station interior with bipedal "Walker" mechs to commandeer and an enormous spider-like robot boss to defeat in incredibly stylish ways.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Vanquish
If for whatever reason you want to make sure that you don't have epilepsy, play this game. It's pretty fun but I hate how Japanese developers get have the cheesiest voice acting/scripts for their games. Maybe it's different in the Japanese version but the dialogue and delivery is terrible.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Vanquish
That's why I usually play Japanese game with Japanese language track when available. That way I won't know if the delivery is cheesy.Comment

Re: Vanquish
Japanese language is available. Not saying it would be any different, but you look at Bayonetta and Madworld, and it's obvious being cheesy is intentional. If nothing else, at least Platinum Games relishes in it.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Vanquish
It may be intentional in this game but every Japanese game I've played has horrible voice acting and scripts. Gears of War is supposed to be the stupid blockbuster of games but at least the voice actors are good at doing the over the top dialogue.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Re: Vanquish
It's a nice change, and we're playing a game...so I find it amusing which isn't a bad thing. With so many american games with standard voice acting and music, I don't see how some dudes find the japanese stuff so anoying, I mean it's rare to find these days, especially on the 360.
I love the low voice angry japanese guy type that almost gurgles at times.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

It's an extremely fast-paced Gears clone by Japanese devs. Its pretty over the top and the visuals and action are sick. Wasn't on my radar til a freind called me raving about the demo. I was impressed with the production values, feels like a major budget release. Highly recommend you peeps try it out.

Re: Vanquish
I really enjoyed the demo a lot and thought the gameplay is well done.......finally a Gears clone that gets the formula right. I still have not tried Quantum, but I've been reading a lot of bad impressions on that one based off of the demo. It kind of sucks that this one is coming out in a crowded month (October) of other stellar titles.Comment
