I agree the lightsaber will make a difference, but it was still tough for me to beat that Sith governor. I used the Force Aura a lot.

I'm at work, but was scanning the instruction manual for KOTOR, and was wondering if there's a character type (scoundrel, scout, or soldier) that's better to pick than others. I'm guessing it's just personal preference, and how I like to play, but figured i'd look for advice since I can't play right now

I haven't tried all characters, but I'm a scoundrel. I was able to use stealth right away. IMO this is an invaluable asset, because it allows you to explore without being seen/getting shot at. I guess every character could eventually get that attribute, but I think they have to work their way up to it. Scoundrels also possess the "persuade" attribute. It's kind of like the Jedi mind trick. It doesn't work great right away, but you start out with it. Again everyone can get that attribute, but the scoundrel starts out with it. The downside with the scoundrel is that he isn't a great fighter, but he does get sneak attack feats that help.

When I play this the next time through I'll start out as a soldier. I think if you want to duke it out from the start, this guy might help you out more.

I was thinking scoundrel, cause that'd be a cool way to play, but for the first time through I think I'll be a soldier, I'm more in an evil killing mood

I'm at work for a little while longer...picked it up at lunch though, cause rush hour traffic around here is nuts...I haven't played a good RPG in a while, this seems more in depth than others I've played, but should be fun
