Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Here are some E3 demos that havent been posted yet. After watching them Im going to keep my eye on this game. Being that this Battlefield 3, Ghost Recon Future soldier and MW3 are all coming out around the same time, cant get them all.

Ubisoft just announced the beta will start in January 2012.Comment

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
So this changed from the December release. Which could be a good thing with some many shooters coming out in close proximityComment

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Good they delayed it.......I wouldn't want it to get the Medal of Honor treatment. Hardly anybody bought that game because of Call of Duty was coming out 3 weeks later. And of the few that bought it, they traded it in for Call of Duty.Comment

Ubisoft: "You're never going to keep hardcore Ghost Recon fans happy"
Ubisoft is conscious that "super-hardcore" Ghost Recon fans yearn for the series to go back to its roots, but according to UK brand manager Matt Benson, commercial realities dictate otherwise.
The upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will tread a path between "classic" Ghost Recon and "the market expectations of gamers these days"...
Benson went on. "There's always going to be super-hardcore players and you're never going to keep them happy. They're just going to want the first Ghost Recon on first-gen Xbox, and they're going to want to be lying on the ground, camoed up, waiting 10 minutes for a guard to walk all the way back round and then pop him.
"And that's fine, but in terms of where we are right now as an industry, there are commercial needs that need to be met in order for us to make the game in the first place. That's the balance you've got to strike.Comment

Thanks for the link, Pete1210.
I don't like what I read there, but I do understand what Matt Benson is saying. Besides, I've never been one to be too stubborn to adapt to change, so I am curious to see how Future Soldier turns out.
All I ask is for UbiSoft to load the multiplayer modes of FS with customizable options which allows an online session host to set up games that are played old school style if desired.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
So in essence, they feel to compete in the shooter genre they need to make it just like every other modern military shooter that's out today?
No thanks. I'll pick up BF3 for the multiplayer, but other than that I'm just about done with this genre.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
That's what confuses me. You aren't going to be the market leader so pull a "Wendy's" and flank 'em. I'm sure there's idiots in some boardroom thinking they'll give the kids what they want and have COD sales. Not gonna happen. Not only will they lose out on that crowd but their hardcore crowd as well. Like I said, bye bye Ghost Recon.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Bring back ghost recon in a 1st person view only!. I cannot stand a 3rd person camera for a military shooter.
I would bring back the original way of playing ghost recon, but improve the visuals and game play.
Ubisoft had something very special there, and ruined it when they went away from their true original vision.
Think about it. We already have COD, so why would we want to play another game that is going to bring us the same cod experience. We want something different, so we can have choices to play something different at times. Ghost Recon could have been that game.
The same with Rainbow six. It was different. I would still play R6 if it played as smooth as COD. I do not need it to be COD. I want it to be R6 but to play as smooth as COD. That is all.
To many companies are looking at this the wrong way. and is why COD continues to pull away.
Another reason why I will play BF3. it will be different. Which is perfect, so when I'm in the mood for BF3 type of game play. I can play a game that is of its own, and then play COD when I want a COD experience.Last edited by Tyrant8RDFL; 07-08-2011, 02:50 PM.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I'm not surprised by this move. Its cool we all got options and one of them for me is BF3!!GRAW was fun while it lasted but I have ZERO desire to play a game that even remotely resembles COD, no way. Can't stand that series. I am biased though. I am ex military.
