mrprice, I think there are doing that because there were a lot of complaints that Confrontation was too slow. I don't expect anything like COD speed though. just a bit faster.

Re: SOCOM 4
I've been a Socomer since the very first game. I logged so many hours on 1&2, played 3 a lot and still log some hours on Confrontation though the later two were a little underwhelming. I'm just hoping they can en-capture the fun factor from socom 2 with some customization and reliable servers with lots of different medleys (I miss breach medleys!). I'm sure a lot of you guys will agree that with me in that i'd be willing to trade some graphics performance for some great core gameplay.Comment

Re: SOCOM 4
Some new info that I found on the SOCOM 4 forums coming from Zipper's latest podcast:
- Sixaxis will not be used
- Dedicated grenade button (R2, either hold for arch, or tap to throw)
- Travis Steiner believes S4 will be the best SOCOM
- No voice commands in SP
- Teammates can't revive you in SP
- Grenade indicators for nearby grenades
- No grenade cooking
- S4 will be "continuing the innovative multiplayer"
- Centered camera in MP
- No armor will be in SP or MP
- Health Regen for SP, possibly an option for MP
- No encumbrance

Re: SOCOM 4
Probably because you'll be so focused on the distance/arch of your toss, and said precision won't grant you enough time to get a throw off without it blowing up in your face let alone before it hits your designated target.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: SOCOM 4
After trying the Sixaxis controls in Confrontation I'm glad they're not bringing them into S4.
I'm fine with the game not having grenade cooking, since I like being able to use the arc for more precision aiming when throwing through windows. Plus, it stops people from just cooking nades and getting cheap kills when they get shot and drop it in a crowd, or cooking them for suicide attacks.
I hope they bring back the door kicking too. I hope we don't have to wait too long for more multiplayer info.Last edited by FlyRice; 09-07-2010, 11:00 PM.Comment

SOCOM 4 confirmed for April
After seeing its deployment delayed into 2011 way back in July of 2010, Zipper Interactive's latest entry in the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs franchise finally has a more tangible release date: April 2011. The date was nonchalantly dropped in a Wall Street Journal article on PlayStation Move, which the game has become a key "core" title for. SCEA subsequently confirmed to Joystiq that its release is indeed set for April.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: SOCOM 4
makes complete sense. Sony 1st part doesn't have much coming out between the Show in early March and Infamous 2 in late may/early June.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Earlier this week at the Zipper headquarters in Redmond, WA, we invited the media and 18 SOCOM community members to check out the latest version of our game. Not only did they get an update on the progress of our single-player campaign, they were also treated to an extensive look at several of our multiplayer modes, which, as any SOCOM fan will tell you, is absolutely the game’s bread and butter.
Early next week, we’ll have another update on the PlayStation and SOCOM blogs to let you know what members of the community thought about their visit to Redmond and their hands-on time with SOCOM 4. In the meantime, we’d love for you to check out our “Not For Self” multiplayer trailer by clicking on the video above.
Also, for you veteran SOCOM fans out there, head on over to GameStop.com and bring back classic SOCOM memories with another new trailer, this one for the GameStop pre-order exclusive “Abandoned” Map!
The good news is that this is just the beginning of an upcoming flood of SOCOM goodness. As we count down the days and weeks to April 19, you can expect plenty of news, details and media to get you hyped up for what we think is the best SOCOM game yet. Enjoy the ride!Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
