    It's what made it different than the other shooters. Sure other games have "options" to make it like this as well.....but........it's just different.
    Respawn mode in Socom 2 didn't count towards stats though from what I remember.

    And I used to get a kick out of guys trying to get the last word in the lobby before the match started.

        This. While I like the fact they are trying to reach a wider audience. I'm not sure I like how their doing it. I know the other game (3 letters) has been really successful in the FPS market. I loved the way Socom plays and differenciates itself as a 3PS shooter. The only thing I can hope for is that aiming down the sites will make you a shooting target by making the player slower.

          The thing I have always disliked in the socom series is the side to side strafing movement it looks like the player is on ice going side to side & just looks silly and unrealistic. I prefer the player to feel more connected to the ground and I hope the bunny hopping is toned down as well.

            That sort of thing is in every FPS I've ever played. Maybe a little more in Socom but, every game has it's strange way of playing.

              This, Yeah I mean characters do the same thing in FPS usually it's just you don't see it really. if you go into spectator mode you can usually see that.

                Seems like this may be dead in the water. They need to come out with more gameplay vids or something.

                      I hope so too, it's my most anticipated game this year. It sounds like they're really taking feedback seriously. On their official forums, Chris Roper (community manager) made a post saying that they removed E-Tags (enemy tags that appeared in the last two minutes) because the community wanted it completely gone from classic mode. So far classic mode includes:

                      - No respawn
                      - No health regen
                      - No enemy tags
                      - No enemies on radar
                      - Cover mode (requested because of lack of d-pad lean)
                      - Realistic damage
                      - Faster movement (compared to respawn mode)
                      - Crosshairs similar to past SOCOMs

                      I can already tell that I'll be playing this game for a long time. Can't wait for the beta. BTW, the podcast comes every two weeks, so there won't be a new one until next Friday.

                            I like the sounds of that Frice. Good stuff. I hope they continue to listen to the community and not try to be something that it shouldn't. Keep the game the way Socom is supposed to be played.

                              great news.... this is the stuff that makes SOCOM the best game in the old days when it first came out on PS2
