BTW on twitter Jeremy Dunham announced that they have addressed the camera issues and it is now pulled back with a wider field of vision. There are also more guns in the final version, with accuracy adjustments and weapon tweaks still being made. Sounds like we'll be playing a vastly improved version from the beta.Comment

It should be harder to get kills at distance, especially since I've been getting popped at a good range with the freaking SMG's.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Now I'm not too sure about that. Maybe the chance of hitting someone at that distance? Okay, I see your point. I mean shooting someone in the head across the map with rifle like accuracy with an 10"-11" barrel is unrealistic. Not the effect itself.
The point is the effect should not happen in such a straight line. With such a short barrel, tumbling and drop happens much more rapidly, especially on the 9MM variants... yet the game (and most out there) do not account for this. (out of all the most recent ones, BC2 does the best job, R6:Raven Shield was even better years before that)
Sorry been shooting firearms all my life... if you can be just as effective with an SMG from across the map, why even have rifles or carbines.
And also accuracy of LMGs should be very sporadic across the map in these games, and most they are not. It is a suppression fire weapon, yet most of thees games you can run and gun like Rambo with them head shotting people.
For a series like SOCOM that wants to pride itself, it needs to do better in this department. And less like the mass of arcade shooters out there.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
