Re: League of Legends!
The community is unforgiving, whatever, it's a pretty hardcore genre. I wish people were nicer but I could say that any multiplayer game in general. As for the people on the forums and the people I've met in games vs. bots, they've been helpful. The other night I played a game vs. bots where one of my teammates was a level 30 on his other account. Instead of looking down on us and being an ******* he was very nice and helpful, offering up a lot of tips.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: League of Legends!
I'm probably gonna start playing this this weekend. One of my friends has been trying to get me to play for a while now.
I used to love DOTA, although I couldn't really compete with the hardcore folks — I even got cussed out one time for having the audacity to try to download the map by joining a lobby game.Always cracked me up how mad people would get when they have a teammate that hasn't logged 50+ hours in-game. Everyone's new once.
Once I've played a few rounds and sort of know what I'm doing I'll post my username and add a few of you folks. Now Playing

Re: League of Legends!
I decided to give this a try. Really easy to pick up, with my Dota experience. Seems like an easier, more newb friendly, version of Dota. Not that it's a bad thing, as Dota can be very, very intimidating to start out.
I do like the champion, mastery, and rune system that adds an almost RPG aspect and gives you a reason to keep playing.
Pretty good experience.Comment

Re: League of Legends!
I still play this game whenever I get the chance. I usually roll with Tristana. I'm about to try a new build with her this week so here's to hoping my numbers continue to get better.

Re: League of Legends!
I have played tutorial games of this a few times but was foolishly intimidated by the rep of the community to go online. I was thinking of getting Smite but knowing a few OSers are active maybe I'll give LoL a look again this weekend. I'll post my handle when i log in and discover it.Now playing

Been playing great with Tristana lately, but thinking of changing my abilities from Ignite-Ghost to Ignite-Flash. Any pros and cons I should know about between Ghost and Flash?Comment

Re: League of Legends!
At the very least try flash out for like a 10-game stretch and see how it feels. I've always preferred flash over ghost myself, just because I am more comfortable using flash.
Flash pros: instant GTFO! ability, can flash even while under several slows/stuns/snares, also you can flash through some walls.
Flash cons: easy to flash the wrong way or into a wall. also it's just a temporary jump. If you flash away from Yi guess what, he's still catching you.
Ghost pros: covers good distance and very good on slow-moving ranged champions. Also I think only Rammus can catch you while in ghost, and only when his ram ability is charged up.
Ghost cons: can't ghost through a wall or barrier, can't ghost out of most stuns/slows/snares.Lux y VeritasComment

Most people would say flash is better but really they are equal. It really comes down to personal preference but when deciding between the two consider your champ's abilities. For example with Tristana you have the rocket jump and her ultimate pushes you away from the target. Those are two abilities that act as a flash, though not quite as potent.
