I usually frequent the first two. Thanks and when I get a chance this week I will be trying out Flash for sure.

Got a chance to play one game today. Remembered to switch Ghost to Flash and it ended up saving me from certain death at least three times. Seems to be my new skill to use instead of Ghost.

What is with the log-in times lately? I know they had server maintenance this weekend but 48 minutes just to log-in to the game is a bit ridiculous.

some patch they rolled out caused major crashes. 48 minutes is nothing compared to when the patch first hit, people were given queue times of 4-7 hours. Some had RP missing, some had all runes, RP, IP and skins missing. Riot has gone a long way to restore lost items and fix the crashes, but as you can see they're still working on it. The forums at the official LoL site usually have updates from Riot employees themselves if you ever wonder if something is off with the servers.

Ya the patch that North America is running has broken Lee Sin and Maokai where a certain ability for both wont work as intended. Europe is still on the older patch, or atleast was and the 2 champs weren't/aren't broken. I know its Maokai's snare that's not functioning properly, I think its Lee Sin's Q

Flash helps out especially if you need to hop a lane in the jungle or a wall by the ends of the river. Alot of little places to hop over and put some distance for an escape. I never have liked to run ghost personally, even in top lane.

I have been hearing that some champs are top lanes and some are bottom lanes. How do you know who is better where? What's the difference between running top lane and bottom?

That is a bit subjective but there are certain champions that with the current meta are considered to be good at certain roles.

The current meta is that you have a tanky character play solo top. Melees are preferred, champions like Riven, Nautilus, Sion, Renekton. Consideration given to certain ranged like Vladimir and Yorick.

In mid you almost always want to go AP carry. This would be ranged casters like Ahri, Karthus, Lux, Viktor, Malzahar, Ziggs.

Bot you want one AD carry, such as Graves, Caitlin or Vayne, and one support, such as Soraka, Sona, Janna.

                  And lastly one jungler.

So for example, I saw you earlier where you said you play a lot of Tristana. She is a terrible solo top because she dies way too easy. Top is the easiest lane to gank so you can't put a squishy character there. Tristana is best in bottom paired with a support.

The current meta doesn't mean every game needs to be played that way. I've seen successful melees in mid, successful Shacos in lane and Lulus that solo top. If anything it's most important to make sure your team has a good mix of characters and communicate as well as you can.

Wow thank you for that. With Tristana I would either solo mid or be paired up with somebody top or bottom. At the time I was still only a level 14 summoner, so the other low-level summonses wouldn't be jungling. Now that I am close to level 20, almost every team I'm on somebody is in there jungling.

Question: why is it easier to gank top than bottom?

That's a bit of a tricky question. With the current meta and teams having a solo top, it's easier to gank top because the person is there by himself with no ally to save his but. However, I've always felt like top was easier to gank even if you do have two top. I dunno why, maybe something with the map layout.

Top lane turrets feel further away compared to mid and there's 4 bushes to hide in. Also more room to backdoor and catch someone in between the 2 set of turrets without getting hit

Mid you can still get caught if youre pushed up too far but generally if you sit half way, you'll be able to make it back in time for the turret to protect you.

I know this is a very subjective question, but I'm going to answer it anyways. Which champion should I buy?

Let me preface this with the champions I currently own. I only own four champions and only play with two of them. The ones I play are Ahri and Tristana while Graves and Alistar get no love.

As you can see, I prefer a ranged champion, but I feel as of I should have another champion that is melee or a jungler to add a little variety to my champion selection.

Any suggestions? Why do you suggest them?

Udyr is one of the safer melee champions to learn. Dual role, can play top or jungle. Have you tried Alistair jungle? If youre not too familiar with jungling, I'd watch a few guides or streams before jumping into it

If you ever plan on playing ranked, AP carry is something you want to learn in order to move up in the ELO rank

I'd suggest trying the following three roles out: melee carry, melee tank and support. Since you're still new to the game jumping right into jungling may be difficult, but if you do then it helps to watch some vids like av7 recommended.

Here are some champs I like for those roles:

melee carry: Gangplank, Tryndamere, Garen, Master Yi, Pantheon, Renekton, Fiora

melee tank: Alistar (truthfully better as support or jungle though), Jarvan, Maokai, Shen, Sejuani, Volibear, Sion, Dr. Mundo, Cho Gath

                                support: Lulu, Soraka, Sona, Janna

Obviously there are others who fit into these roles who I didn't list but those are champs that I feel have a higher learning curve.
