Well what's the verdict guys? Silly postman still hasn't delivered my copy yet. Guessing the holiday threw him off by a day.
I need some impressions to hold me over...Comment

Re: Bulletstorm (PS3/360)
I'm only on Act 2: Chapter 2. It starts off slow, really underwhelming honestly with a tutorial that lasts to long, but it picks up by the end of Act 1. The whole "Kill with Skill" doesn't feel forced, and unlike in the demo you have a database at dropkits that you can look at to see what skillshots you can do with a particular weapon or environment specific to that section of the game. I like how they handle QTEs, I personally don't care for them, but at least you can't fail most of them, you just wont get any XP. They try and use language in as many wrong ways as possible (or right?), sometimes it's funny, while it falls flat other times. There's a filter in the options for those that may not want to hear it, but I haven't turned it on, so I don't know exactly how it changes things.
It's a fun and really stupid game, but the kind of stupid I can get behind. It's refreshing, because so many shooters and games in general these days take themselves way to seriously, try and be ultra-cinemtaic, and make you care for their characters, but a lot ultimately end up being stupid anyways.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

There's some really nice looking levels in this, that deserves mention.
Also the game makes it perfectly clear their characters (at least the main one) are stupid and doesn't pretend otherwise.Comment

Nice. I didn't know you could bring it up at anytime and agreed on the levels, particularly the outdoor sections look really good. Can't say the same for the cutscenes so far, which have bad compression artifacts and some tearing, at least on PS3.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Bulletstorm (PS3/360)
Game looks beautiful. The tutorial mission in the beginning on the side of the building, if you look out and see people/cars, and the sunset below...gorgeous!
I don't know if I even care about the story, I've only played it a few minutes due to having a little one and him being sick on top of it, but what I have played I've been happy with. Definitely doesn't take itself serious, and you gotta like that.
I did turn off the gore and language. It either bleeps it out with a walkie talkie scrub, or the line is removed all together. Doesn't seem too bad actually.
I don't understand Anarchy mode at all. LOL
I haven't noticed any screen tearing or compression issues.Comment

The main thing is your team has to hit a certain number of points to advance to the next round. Doesn't matter how many kills you get, as long as those kills equal or eclipse the pre-set point total. Doing team skillshots helps out a lot. For example on Powerplant with the giant spinning blades of doom, have a teammate leash an enemy towards you, then you kick him into the blades. That's 200 points, whereas if you did it alone it would just be 50.
Also, it's very important to pay attention to the team challenges. In the beginning waves it's usually just the last enemy who's a team challenge, and most of the time it's something simple like bullet kick or bullet slide. So if the team challenge is bullet kick, one teammate needs to kick him and then when the enemy is in the air one or more of the other three teammates needs to shoot and kill him before he lands. Any time there is a team challenge, and you don't know what the skillshot is, press the back button and a short description will appear on the screen. It's very important to hit all team challenges since they're worth 500 points.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Bulletstorm (PS3/360)
I didn't get the team challenges, they didn't really say what needed to be done and I was lost on them and getting yelled at LOL. I got the one doing a bullet slide and killing someone, sure. But had one where we all had to leash a guy, but couldn't figure out what to do next.
Need to play with you and some friends to get a grasp on it. LOLComment

Hopefully if CB gets his copy today we can all hop into some Anarchy mode today or tonight.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Bulletstorm (PS3/360)
I love this game, I believe I'm on 2-1, after the copter incident...But this game is absolutely great and the details in the environments are insanely beautiful.
I've been playing it for almost 2 hours straight, and didn't want to quit, but I have to be at work soon.
I'm definitely getting back on this game when I get off tonight, this will be a sleeper hit. I got it on PC and running at extreme resolutions, EG I agree with you about the part of walking down that building with static boots...City details and flying cars were so damn gorgeous.
You think that looks good, all I got to say is train! When you get there, the detail is insane and fast paced.
I might pick up the 360 version too, just for the Gears of War 3 beta.
But for now it's windows live baby!!! I'll post the video I just recorded tonight and post it later.Comment
