Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops

Well I just played the last game of my vacation. I've managed to get my KDR up to 1.5 and my I'm also now on the positive side in wins.

    Oh and I'm level 28 1st prestige.

Now comes 10 agonizing hours of work/commute.

Forgot to mention a couple things. The zombies mode is soooo awesome. I played with some buddies last night but we couldn't make it past Round 6, lol. Still had a great time though.

And where the hell did all the Hardcore modes go? Why is there only Hardcore Free for All, Search & Destroy and Team Deathmatch? Where's Hardcore Demolition, Domination, etc? I need my baby from MW2 back, which was Hardcore Mosh Pit.

I thought the Commando perk was taken out of the game. Why is everyone suctioning up to knife me?!

I like hardcore overall but my biggest gripe is camping is more prevelent in hardcore. I've gone minutes in hardcore team deathmatch where I can't find anyone because no one wants to move and get out of their hiding spots.

because its not fun seeing people all the way in the back of the map laying hoping people run past. The camping is worst in this then MW2 I want to see the winner score at 7500 instead of it at 5000

I unlocked Sleight of Hand Pro last night and suddenly went crazy - dunno if it was because of that perk or I was just really clicking. I was using a quick-hitting type of class with an AKS74U, Lightweight, Sleight, and Hacker (so I don't trip over mines while moving that fast). I'm also using concussion grenades with this class

Not sure what attachment to use with the class though - I don't really need a suppressor because either way, the fight is over in a few seconds and if I'm still alive I'm dashing out of the scene of the crime. I find it hilarious that I could attach a greande launcher to a Submachine gun, but it would certainly be useful at the the long ranges where the SMG can't reach. I don't really need the reflex or dot sight either - the AK74U's iron sights are pretty good.

Brought my overall K/D within about 50 Kills of being 1/1 in one night.

Yeah it is the same way with Free for All, everybody camps. I swear this year people care way too much about their K/D ratio. To me that is the worse thing that ever was invented in videogames. People care about it way too much, brag about it, make clans based off it.

Like last night I seen this guy in Domination sit in the same spot ALL game long, laying behind some bushes in the corner on that night time map. And then on launch you got people camping underground the whole game in the corners. Takes the fun out of it.

Use grip or extended mags then. AK47u is my favorite gun in the game so far too.

Medal of Honor had the right combination - their regular mode, should be CoD's hardcore mode. They just had less stages, people, and missing a bunch of little things that CoD has.

For matchmatching (on Xbox 360), if you are with a party, during peak times it seems to always kick out your everyone in your party. I found a way to get around this, which tends to work for the most part.

When you first look for a match it will say something like "Found 50 Matches...."

then a few seconds go by

Then it says something like "Trying to connect to X potential matches" and that number will count down...

after that it will say something like "joining lobby" and then it will go back to saying "Found 50 Matches..." again. By this time, if you haven't joined a game, back out of the matchmaking and you should still have your party with you. Otherwise, you will probably lose them.

This won't make you find matches any quicker, but it will keep you/your party from getting kick out of the party. Also when it first says "Trying to connect to X potential matches" and the first number it shows is high (20+) you have a good chance of finding a match. If it's low (<5), you're going to be trying for a while...

again i've only tried this for Xbox.
I also found out that if everyone switched chat channel to game chat and search for a game mode that your more likely to get into games as well.

As for knife killing, I have yet to see a warp knife kill in real time, only see it in kill cam. Like I said before dont rely on kill cam to say how you die because knife kills on there always look like suction knifing.

I made this comment last night, camping in this game is much worse than it was in MW2. It is ridiculous that you cannot reach 7500 or close to it before the match expires. I also do not want to play regular TDM because I do not want to have to empty a clip into someone to kill them, and I think kill cam is garbage. I have no problem with people in hardcore using common sense and creeping along, but to literally sit in one spot the entire game is sad. It basically is a war of wills, who is going to be the team that moves, I think that a lot of poeple would sit in the same spot and let the game end 0-0 or 100-0, it's ridiculous.

I think if I hit a guy with bullets before he tries to knife me or throw a tomahawk their aim should be noticed off a little.
