I agree that the SMG's need to be buffed. They just pale in comparison to the 74u. The AK74u has the perfect recoil, mag, damage, and fire rate. While the other SMG's have small mags, low damage, high recoil, or high fire rate.

Now if this was MW2 and we were talking about the UMP 45 being overpowered, then that would be a different story.

Most of the first party games to me are far better for online on the PS3 than multi-platform games.

The best and most popular online games are 3rd party and better on 360 due to it's stability.

I think it just depends on how someone plays the game. I use the AK74u the most, with Rapid Fire attachment only. I was getting dominated when I first started playing because my style of play is to get in close to people for clean shots instead of picking them off from farther away. I've had more success with SMG's with the strategy than the Assault Rifle's so I've stuck with the SMG's.

Personally, even with grip+rapid fire being as deadly as it was, I'd still rather keep Sleight of Hand over Warlord for my perk.

It doesn't take ANY TALENT to run the Ak74u rapid fire grip combo at all. When a gun fires that fast and has NO RECOIL AT ALL, it unbalances the game a lot, when you can put 3-4 bullets in the guy and have a CLEAR jump but yet he still magically kills you.

That specific combo, I feel, is overpowered, because it is horribly unrealistic for a rapid fire gun to have no recoil. (I feel Rapid Fire, should be like underbarrels and be the only attachment you can get, but I digress)

The gun as a whole, while MP40-ish, isn't "overpowered." The Rapid Fire/Grip combo is easily the cheapest thing on the game, helping crap players do well and great players be unstoppable.

Yeah that's why I wish Sony would make their own military shooter. Imagine the Killzone engine used for a COD style game that would be interesting to see. The best online games for performance that I have played have been Warhawk., Killzone, Resistance, MAG & Uncharted. Then I play BFBC, COD, Rainbow Six and they run terrible always having issues that never seem to be corrected in fact they progressively get worse from game to game.

It definitely doesn't feel like any other SMG exists outside of the Ak74u. I almost never see ANY of them in play, maybe one MP5K or Skorpion every 20-30 matches or so, that's about it. And there isn't motivation to use any of them anyhow.

I've been using the MPL with Red Dot and it's beast.

I like the 47 better than the 74. The 47 is an AR but it feels almost the same to me but with a little more power.

I use the MPL as well. It's a little jumpy so I use grip, but there is no need for rapid fire to be the attachment as it fires fast enough already. People hate when I kill them with it because it sounds like a toy.
