Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I played on 2 for a while but switched to 3 & I think thats my perfect setting. More than that & I'll be shooting everything else but the enemy..."In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully

Man, I had no clue you could change the sensitivity thing. I've been playing on default all this time. I switched it to four, it may take a little getting use to, but I like it.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I'm just not enjoying this game anymore. I feel like how well I do has absolutely nothing to do with me. On World at War, on any given day, I would have a pretty consistent range of how I was doing. Not on here, I go from one match to another even with the same group and it's completely random.
The last month, I've gone from great to terrible to great to terrible seemingly every other match. I went 13-0 in a match today, and followed it up with a 5-13. Even if it's the exact same group (And even same map) it's just not fun at this point.
And I start well. First match I play is almost ALWAYS good, and then about a match or two later, absolutely terrible. I feel like there is no consistency.
I'm just not having the fun with this game I had with World At War. I had bad matches and good of course, but how well I did didn't feel so out of my control.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I'm pretty much to the same point as you at this point in the game. I have good and bad games but it's just not fun when I get 4-5 hit markers, the guy doesn't die, turns around fires one shot and I'm dead. Now obviously on the kill cam it looks totally different but that's the issue with this game right there.
On another note, does anyone know if you can still play with friends who did not buy the new maps? I wasn't sure if once you have the new maps you are only playing with others who bought them as well. It sure seems that way, because even on the regular playlists i'm playing on one of the new maps most of the time.LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
Well for close range encounters you need to learn to fire from the hip instead of aiming down the sites. It also helps to keep moving. What I do is circle to the left with the left stick and spin right with the stick while firing from the hip.
Raising your look sensitivity will also help a lot. It will suck at first and seem to be too fast but your reflexes will get used to it. I'd start by just going up to 3 and playing on that while. Since you are learning to aim anyway you might as well get a head start and learn on a slightly higher sensitivity.
I'll give you an example of why it helps.
You run around a corner and at the same time an enemy runs past you going the other way. You both try to spin around and shoot the other guy before he can shoot you. Whoever has the higher sensitivity is going to win this encounter because it allows you to turn faster."You probably heard we ain't in the prisoner-takin' business; we in the killin' Nazi business. Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
Damn Sven, Thank you for the tips, but I think I just flat out stink at this game. I tried your suggestions for the past 2 nights and I am still around .50 for my kill/death ratio. I do not camp at all and I am constantly on the move. I come face to face with the enemy and I am always a split second behind. I am no spring chicken at age 44 so maybe my reflexes aren't as good as these younger kids?I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
Keep playing FFA. When I started on MW2 I was horrible myself (.47 K/D), but it finally started coming together to where I'm a 1.5 K/D in BO.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I would try to camp actually if you are having trouble. I hate it myself...but it's easy kills. Or what would truely be best is to play it safe- if you think there is someone around the corner; sit there, if you think you have space to breathe, keep moving until you feel in danger of an enemy around.Comment
