Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops

I was just thinking to myself how tired I am of this game. Then I looked at how many hours I have played and the reason why was pretty obvious. I think it's pretty common for some of us to burn a ring in the disc the first couple months then tire out. All Call Of Duty games are subject to some burn out. Like one of th last posters said I actually played a little MW 2 last week to change it up.

When MW 3 comes out I'm going to try a little up front moderation.

And not pay for any more map packs( but that'a a seperate story all together.)

I love the guns and maps in MW2 but the actual gameplay mechanics are super cheesy. There is no way I could ever go back and if IW/SH don't make a lot of the same intelligent gameplay changes that Treyarch did I'll be skipping MW3.

          Too each his own.

From what I've been reading from Robert Bowling, he keeps mentioning a lot of gun on gun gameplay like they had in Call of Duty 4. Hopefully this is true. I posted a video in the Modern Warfare 3 thread with Bowling talking about many things regarding the MP.

It is good to not need to use a scope, and a silencer is great on maps where you want to move around a lot undetected.

Try to see if you can get away with iron sites. Gives you the freedom to use Sleight of Hand, which can be a godsend.

Not sure how many of you prestige guys have Hacker pro'd out, but watching the enemy flock to protect and open one of their care packages and then explode for a triple or quad kill because I booby trapped it is the sweetest feeling in the game.

The escalation pack maps have jumped to my favorite maps after playing it for only a few hours.

For those of you that want potentially a more level playing field as far as the game goes, there is a new mode called PURE. The only one I have played so far is Pure TDM, I don't know if there are any others.

There are no killstreaks, no perks, no equipment. Only the flashbangs/flash etc and greneade options. There are actually a lot of newer players playing it so it is pretty easy.

Regardless, now it is real gun vs gun gameplay and feels more balanced.

That's not really a new mode. Was in MW2 and has been in Blops for most of this year I think.

Ah well I never noticed it before in black ops, must have missed it. Adds some freshness.

practice against the computer in training mode. learn the maps properly.

You are most likely not running along the outside of the map to learn it, and just blindly going places. You have to know your spots on the maps and find different vantage points.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops

This game makes no sense to me. Whenever I think of Call of Duty, I get this negative feeling in my gut. Whenever I play Call of Duty I get mad and won't to burn down the neighborhood, but I always go back at some point. Sometimes I play the next night, sometimes I take a month away from the game, but I always go back.

It's not love or anything because to be honest, I really don't like the CoD games that much. Maybe it's my friends always play this, so I play it with them. Maybe it's all the stats they track that are free right now, maybe it's the competitiveness and just the size of the community. I just don't know. There are other games out there I easily enjoy 10 times as much as CoD, but I don't play them as much.

I do know that I play Bad Company 2, a game I love, more consistently than CoD. I play BC2 every week while I am a binge drinker when it comes to CoD.

Is anyone else like this. They don't really enjoy CoD that much, but still end up playing it so much you'd think they do enjoy it.

I enjoy both. COD is given way too much hate in my opinion.
