Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
One area I'd give MW2 a huge advantage so far is in TDM re-spawns. This game seems to love you bring you back in spots crawling with the enemy.
No idea on either question. Still haven't encountered any dogs.Last edited by sven; 11-06-2010, 05:02 PM.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
You can still knife them but they are not as stupid as before. They will flank....lol. Also seems like the more dogs you kill the more agressive they get towards you.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
When you shoot your gun, the dogs will attack you. If you don't they have the chance of running past you or still going after you. I remember seeing it in the killstreaks video someone posted a few pages back.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I've only had trouble with the Specialist contracts...although I have only had one so far. And I am struggling with this game too, I think it's because none of the guns so far that match my play style. I need a good mid range gun, the MP5k has terrible range, enfield has too much recoil, m14...is well an m14(although I use this most currently).
And anyone with the game add me on xbox! GT is my username.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
They can't go online though...or at least that is what I have heard. Although I have also heard that Black Ops doesn't have the new dashboard anti-piracy update.Comment

Is the default sensitivity still 2? I usually use the one right above default. Getting too old for anything higher.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
My impression
- First thing I noticed was your walking/running speed is waaaaaay slower than MW2. If you use the lightweight perk in black ops, you'd be moving at the regular speed of MW2.
- I haven't been a victim of it, but I think magic bullets are back. It takes a slight delay to register that you've killed someone. I can only imagine how that looks on their end.
- There is very little WOW factor to this game. It's like they said "hey MW2 was too much, let's tone it down" but didn't really offer anything else new. They've reduced the number of perks which I think was a mistake (yes some need to be taken out, but they could've created new ones). There are new features, but it isn't enough to carry the game. As much as I got annoyed at marathon ninja running around slicing me up, it was funny as hell to watch and sometimes fun to do. Because of the lack of WoW of this, it kind of puts a damper on...
- ...the theater mode. It's cool and gets the job done, but I don't ever really think it will get much use because of the reason above. At least in Halo, there are plenty of means to bend the laws of reality, which allow for a greater chance of amazing sequence of events to occur. Here - I don't think IGN will have a top 10 replays from Black Ops like they did Reach. And if they do, I won't be in awe by it....
- The currency system was provided to add extra replay value, but honestly it just makes things a little extra complicated, and more annoying. You still have to unlock things by getting to certain levels - but then once they are unlocked, you still have to purchase them. Most of the contracts are very detailed and require you to do things that may detract from you winning the game. If you get a contract to get 25 headshots, your concern is more for filling your contract than it is for winning the game. The positive here though is you do not have to level up with a weapon to get the ACOG scope - you can purchase it right away (once you have unlocked that weapon....and purchased that weapon).
- Other than the above, this game provides a solid CoD experience that you come to expect from this franchise. I really do like Camera spike, as it allows you to watch your flank. Also I agree with the other posters, it's hard to fully fortify yourself anywhere as almost every place has multiple entrances.
If I was rating this game, I would give it an 8.5 because the new features really don't provide much that we haven't seen before, and gameplay feature wise, it went backwards and probably has feature set comparable to CoD4. However keep in mind I've only played the game for like 3 hours. I do enjoy it, and I am going to play it but I will probably lose interest once I hit prestige (if not sooner). That is when I lost interest in MW2...
I've only finished the first level in Single Player. So far it appears to be a cool story. Ice Cube's acting is somewhat ruining it for me though...Last edited by iLLosophy; 11-06-2010, 05:50 PM.Comment
