The studio actually had the XBL/PSN game finished when Disney took over, but Disney kept them from releasing it. I wouldn't put any hope in anybody picking up either game.

Like others have said, it's hard to believe that there wouldn't be a Star Wars game in the coming years with the new films coming out. Why not Battlefront? If memory serves me correctly, it sold as well as any other SW game on the market.

The articles coming out haven't sounded very hopeful. I hope it does happen because I've been wanting one all along this generation, but only time will tell.

likely because Disney doesn't want anything to do with any sort of violence at all... especially gun violence.
It will be much more effective to collect on the license of Star Wars Kinect 2 or maybe a movie themed version of that and call it a day.

The picked the wrong franchise to buy then. I'm holding out some hope; they've gotta make a game anyway, why not Battlefront? It's a pretty cookie cutter formula, and there's high demand.

This isn't actually true. Disney has recently made films with a good amount of violence, and video games that are paired with them. Pirates of the Caribbean and The Avengers are two examples.

Just a guess, but Disney isn't going to want their name plastered all of Star Wars when it is synonymous with kids entertainment. That won't be their target audience.

Ah, that makes sense. However, I stand by the fact that Disney has produced games that would have equal to or more violent content than a non-bloody SW Battlefront ever would.
